Republican Governors and Republican Mayors across America need shake off the brain fog they're in and stop letting Democrats and the left wing Media use them to shove this American Rescue Plan Act down the American people's throats. What the American people constantly hear watching news programs is these people continually saying I don't know why Republicans in Congress are so opposed to this bill when Republican Governors and Republican Mayors across the country support this bill. It is understandable that Republican Governors support the $350 billion for cities and states in the bill but passage of the bill. This bill is so bad it is scandalous it takes elected officials' duty to be good stewards of the country's finances and treats it as something to be laughed at, it is unprecedented in its reckless spending. Republican Governors and Mayors should come out against this specific bill they should look out and speak out for the long-term interests of their community and speeding up the day that will come when America's debt crisis begins to buckle significant portions of our economy should move them to not allow themselves to be used to promote this bill. There is so much these Governors and Mayors could say that is wrong about this bill such as why do we need to send families with incomes of $150k a $1400 check when future generations are going have to pay for the money and the interest on that money in the account that the check is drawn from! It is great that increasing the child credit from $2000 to $3000 per year and making it refundable will lift half the children that live in America today out of poverty; but, is that policy alone the right answer for America. Will not that policy incentivize poor uneducated women to have a couple of babies and not work having two kids will bring her a debit card from the Federal Government where the government puts at least $500 per month on the card. Can we do better as a nation than bringing about women just having income right above the poverty line where they don't work or work little and have no upward mobility and so they and most importantly their children have a low standard of living and live in poor neighborhoods where drug use and crime is at high levels and their children get sucked into that cesspool and put on a bad life path. Not this year because of the Pandemic but everyone and their mother knows this child credit increase will be permanent; might it make sense to mandate that single parents that don't work at least six months a year only get 2K of the 3K credit refunded to them. Is it good policy to spend $86 billion on a pension bailout that doesn't solve the problem with employers promising pensions they don't fund and leaving American taxpayers on the lurch to pay the obligation; might that money be better spent on fixing our nation's deteriorating bridges.

80+% of the american public is for the bill. Republican mayor's and governors are for the bill. Democrats and independents are for the bill.

Somebody's out of touch with their constituents.

Maybe 1% knows what’s in it

incentivize poor uneducated women to have a couple of babies and not work
Okay, I had to stop reading there. Hope you feel better now, but sorry, "incentivize""to""not work" simply makes zero sense, aside from it being sexist and classist as hell.
