The U.S. military has spent more than $6 billion to develop and deploy new financial systems, but the effort has been plagued by significant added overruns and delays, defense officials told the CPI, a nonprofit investigative news organization.
This is great. Our military spent $6 BILLION more of taxpayer's money and still failed to figure out where they spent the rest of the tax payer's money?? And all the GOP can do is recommend cutting and/or eliminating "wasteful" spending for it's poorest and oldest citizens? Really?

That's just the tip of the iceberg bro. That Military Industrial Complex and Technological Ellite that Eisenhower warned us about? It's in full swing at the Pentagon.

I am ok with trimming the military waste & corruption any day. Every large government program is full of it. Medicare lose $100 billion a year to fraud & we do nothing about that either.

So.....because "everyone" knows there is waste within Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, farm subsidies, "green jobs" giveaways, bailout and welfare spending (just for starters), it is OK that the democratics will not consider cuts to domestic welfare state spending?:eusa_eh:

When the Special Commission has to initiate the "trigger" because they failed to meet the demands of enough cuts, it shouldn't be too hard on the Defense Dept. Don't get me wrong, I don't think a nickel should be taken away from weapons or arms, jets, etc. Just cut out discretionary spending...

And then begin the audits. That should find where the waste is going.

I do agree with you so much. Just when has the government taken waste and fraud seriously enough to do anything about it? The government cannot audit or investigate it's own. Private companies should be finding the waste and funding should be cut that exact amount.

Stop with the BS, there would be no DOD Budget without dem votes. You see in order for their vote there had to be extra spending.

Wake up!!

No it isn't, but the military is in the constitution, social spending is not.

You wanna' argue about the size of the military and it's mission? Great, but you can't argue against it's existance.

The military budget could be cut 25% with no functional loss if they just cut out most of the waste.

U.S. Constitution - Article 1 Section 8
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and General Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States.
Not sure if "General Welfare" = "Social Spending" for individual citizens or the General Welfare of the country as a whole. Democrats think it means they get paid to sit in their free house, on their free couch eating free food, watching free TV, power by free utilities all paid for by the working citizens.
