Repeal Is Needed More Than Another Amendment

As much as I respect Ted Cruz and Mike Lee this one is DOA:

Aiming to reform Capitol Hill, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla) officially filed an amendment on Tuesday to impose term limits on Congress. Cruz made the annoucement on Facebook, saying: “With control of a decisive majority of the states, the House of Representatives, and the Senate, we have a responsibility to answer the voters’ call-to-action. We must deliver.” The two had previously promised to introduce the measure this year in a Washington Post op-ed.

The proposal already has support from Republican Sens. Mike Lee (Utah), Deb Fischer (Neb.), Marco Rubio (Fla.), Ron Johnson (Wis.), Thom Tillis (N.C.) and David Perdue (Ga.).

Ted Cruz and Ron DeSantis officially propose term limits amendment

There is not a chance their proposed constitutional amendment will be considered with a straight face:

. . . long-serving Democrat senators implement more of their personal agenda than any five presidents you can name. Ninety–five percent of the New World Order’s plan for the world is being instituted by long-serving Democrats and RINO traitors in the Senate. Traitors control the Senate —— and the Constitution by extension —— simply because of their seniority. By the time well-meaning senators get a second term they are already part of the problem.

In truth, the call for term limits is related to lifetime tenure. Unelected bureaucrats, conspiring with their friends in the Ministry of Propaganda, want term limits imposed on elected officials, but not on themselves or their relatives. Interestingly, the term limits chorus never calls for repealing the XVII Amendment even though repeal would effectively impose term limits on US Senators.

Arizonians Can Make A Difference

XXXXX

I must admit that I agree with term limits for the president because too much power in the hands of one person for any length of time is always dangerous. The fact that one person can lay a hand on all of that presidential power to begin with is all the more reason to place term limits on presidents.

Eight years is long enough to launch a few clean surgical strikes aimed at collectivism’s strongholds when the day arrives for that first president to openly oppose all of the evils of collectivism. Presidents who take office after Socialism is on the run can pick off the stragglers.

In addition:

The Founding Fathers did not place term limits on presidents and congressmen. For all practical purposes they effectively placed term limits on senators. The NEVER RATIFIED XVII Amendment changed everything for the worse. The XVII Amendment gave the country long-serving pieces of garbage like Ted Kennedy, Joe Biden, John Kerry, and a number of other Democrats. With the possible exception of FDR no president was able to implement one tenth of his personal agenda the way Kennedy turned almost all of his destructive hatred into legislation. Had he lived longer he would have gotten it all.

I can see limiting the president to eight years in order to guard against:

Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad man. John Emerich Edward Dalberg, 1st Baron Acton (1834–1902)

There is one unsolvable problem with the XXII Amendment. Ronald Reagan would surely have gotten a third term. The problem is separating a good man like Reagan from bad men like FDR, Clinton and Hussein.

Frankly, I never understood why senators are allowed to get away with the things the public fears in dictator-presidents. As I said in 2009, Hussein’s Administration is a Senate Administration. Look at the UN-loving traitors that went from the Senate to the Executive Branch if you doubt me.

Finally, media moguls are guilty of the evils done by long-serving senators. Media paymasters would fight to the death before they would allow the XVII Amendment to be repealed. Proof: It is the media that is making serving in the Senate a required gradation to the presidency. It was the media that guaranteed a sitting senator would become president in 2008. It mattered not which party he or she came from.

Does anyone really believe that members of Congress will rape the media:

100 senators run for election over 6 years —— 435 representatives run every two years. Winners AND LOSERS advertise. That amounts to television raking in roughly 100 billion advertising dollars every six years. That does not include the money television gets from state and local elections. My best guesstimate says that television pockets a TRILLION political advertising dollars every 10 years. And they get it for doing nothing more than sell the filth in government. Had a majority of Americans purchased medicine as poisonous as the Clintons, and the Chicago sewer rat, the parasites in television would be the only ones still alive.

Incidentally, a substantial chunk of political advertising money is spent on presidential elections. In addition to political ads, ask yourself “Who the hell is paying for all of the political campaign bullshit filling up the air time in-between product advertising?”

Bringing it up for discussion is in itself a great public service.

We should also see an amendment to modify or remove the Tenth Amendment, since progressives refuse to acknowledge it anyway. The discussion might serve to remind Americans of its existence, when Congress tries to get into education, healthcare, drug use/abuse, and other prohibited areas.

Defeating shameless liberal, Sherrod Brown, is a noble goal. Brown supported everything Obama did to this country for eight years. Josh Mandel is a good choice to unseat Brown:

Among Mandel’s goals as a senator would be instituting term limits to “clean out” veteran politicians who have stayed too long in Washington, . . .

Mandel sounds like a committed conservative, but he should run on repealing the XVII Amendment if he is serious.

BS,,,

Government should be allowed to govern...If anything we need a modernized constitution that states clearly that the federal government has the power to maintain our infrastructure, our science institutions and many other things like every other modern developed nation on earth. This can be given more or less based on the party people choose to have in government but that is politics....The people should have this kind of democratic say.

We wouldn't be a first world developed nation if it wasn't for the federal government doing such....On the otherhand, such a constitution could better constrain what it can't do as right now outside of the amendments the supreme court really could give it the power to do next to anything.

There isn't a respectable first world developed nation that works differently on this entire planet. If you think the poor and anyone that expects government to govern is parasites then you're probably insane.

Only a hater of democracy and destroyer of everything that maintains this nation as a world power believes as you do.

destroyer of everything that maintains this nation as a world power believes as you do.
To Matthew: True to the parasite’s creed you take credit for somebody else’s work. The fact is that this country’s world power came about because of the form of government you would abolish. From this country’s founding through the first half of the 20th century world power you claim for democracy came from foreign governments because of respect, and from peoples because of admiration. That world power is diminishing everywhere as the parasite class increase their political power here at home through taxation.

Parenthetically, throughout the Cold War Soviet Communists counted on American Socialists/Communists to do the right thing by Communism if they could —— and they often could as in anti-Vietnam War demonstrations. The worst part is that this country’s world power has eroded irrespective of winning the Cold War. The Clintons, the Chicago sewer rat, and the parasites they put in positions of power are trying to replace world power with a global government and all of the political touchy-feely garbage they spout to accomplish their objective.

NOTE: Several years ago I began referring to the Democratic party as the Democrat party because I refuse to associate today’s Democrats with democratic ideals. No one can make the case that the Democrat party is in favor of individual liberties, while just about anyone can easily make the case that the Democrat party is all about collectivism.

Walter E. Williams - Democracy Versus Liberty

It has long-been my contention that parasites brought down every civilization, every empire, every culture, every prosperous country that ever was. America today corroborates my take on parasites and democracy. Democracy makes it easy for the parasites. Once the public begins to talk about the enemy within as many Americans are now doing, they are talking about the parasites class even if it is not yet clear in widespread public discourse.

NOTE: Every Socialist/Communist, Muslim theocrat, and frustrated crackpot in the world sees democracy as their ticket to political power.

Democracy was not a mass movement when this country was founded. The Founders had no use for democracy. To them, it was nothing more than a destructive form of government that had to be avoided.

Woodrow Wilson turned democracy into a mass movement in his speech before a joint session of Congress on April 2, 1917.

“The world must be made safe for democracy” did more damage to America than all of the other ideologies and slogans combined —— including Communism’s “Equal distribution of the wealth.”

Finally, I am on the side of this country’s Founders. Whose side are you on?

Every Republican that was working for Hillary Clinton will probably be reelected for as long as they get the media’s blessings:

Never mind the Russians. It was Hillary Clinton who was actually trying to sabotage the 2016 Presidential Election, according to a WikiLeaks release.

The information released shows that the Hillary Clinton campaign staffers bribed six Republicans to “destroy Trump”.

The evidence includes an email from John Podesta to Huma Abedin discussing diverting Clinton campaign funds to various Republicans who were secretly on the Clinton payroll.

The late Senator Ted Kennedy, Joe Biden, and John Kerry should have been enough to get the ball rolling on repealing the XVII Amendment. That did not happen. Kennedy is remembered as a great American even though he created today’s immigration mess among other disasters. Living scum like former Senators Biden and Kerry are treated like great patriotic Americans. The things Biden did in the Senate should put him in prison for life, and Kerry should have been hanged for treason before he even got to the Senate. It is too late to get either one, but Hillary Clinton may finally make a contribution to the country by showing what long-serving senators really work for:
. . . long-serving Democrat senators implement more of their personal agenda than any five presidents you can name.
And you gotta love it when one maggot thanks another maggot for their long service to the country.

I think term limits might be sold if they were combined with staggered four year terms in the House and no retroactivity.
