..I was lucky enough to be stationed on Oahu with Marine Barracks Pearl Harbor which consisted of 5 companies--one of which was stationed at PH

Apparently there is a hard core of mostly civilians who are working to identify WW2 crash sites and recover remains but they don't get much press. I suspect this is one of their cases.
