Reevaluating the Israeli military's qualitative edge

The Israeli army also has a training edge to go along with the technological edge given by their equipment. Add in the fact that even if they were to go on a tactical offensive they would still be on the defense strategically, and the additional fact that the only army that is a viable threat to them would have to go through Iraq to get to them, and you get a balance of forces that tips heavily in Israel's favor.

Now let Iran get some Nukes and the whole balance goes to absolute shit.

If the North Koreans were able to figure it out (even if its only a shitty half assed bomb compared even to the Hiroshima/Nagasaki Bombs) the Iranians should be able to.

I would discount Pakistan helping them in any way, because they would see a nuclear Iran as a threat (India, obviously would never help them) but the North Koreans have no such qualms, and Iran is a big country with lots of space for hiding stuff.

But for arguments sake, even the chance of Iran getting a few nukes (say 5-10 in the 100-200 kt range) is a strategic disaster for Israel, due to their population concentrations.

Even the attempt to launch one bomb would mean the annihilation of Iran, and Iranians know this. Iran is not going to get the bomb.

If they did it, they wouldn't do one, it would be a spread aimed at the Tel Aviv area.

and you assume your rationality on this issue is shared by the Iranians.

People always think they can get away with something. The Japanese theory of hitting Pearl Harbor, then forcing the "one big battle" similar to the Tsushima Straight Battle, thus forcing the US to negotiate a peace is a perfect example of this.
