"Rational" Republicans Threaten Third-Party if Cheney's Replaced.

For those who thought they would never care about who was the third most important House Republican, Liz Cheney's expected ouster from her leadership position has inspired 100 former Republican leaders drop a letter tomorrow (Thursday 5/13) saying if their party does not separate itself from the former president, they will form a third party:
The Whigs Collapsed Over Slavery. Could the GOP Over Trump?

‘Rationals’ vs. ‘radicals’: Anti-Trump Republicans threaten third party

"The letter, headlined: 'A Call For American Renewal,' is an exploratory move toward forming a breakaway party, two of its organizers said.

"The group is dismayed by what it says is a modern Republican Party driven by its allegiance to Trump, who continues to falsely claim the 2020 election was stolen from him..."

"A spokesman for Trump, Jason Miller, said: 'These losers left the Republican Party when they voted for Joe Biden.'

"Evan McMullin, a former chief policy director for the House Republican Conference and an independent presidential candidate in 2016, said if the Republican Party does not reject lies and extremism, part of it 'will have no choice but to part ways with it and build something new. We’re excited about that prospect.'"

Imho, if four years of Biden has the same effect on Democrats as Trump has had on Republicans, the US may finally get rid of its two-party political monopoly.

Like thats a surprise, the majority of the GOPS party are corrupt globalists like Bush,Cheney,Romney,Graham,Murkowski and Abbot who all hate America so of course they want to distance themselves from Trump, yep those are your rational republicans you trolls love.:lmao::abgg2q.jpg::laughing0301::laughing0301::auiqs.jpg:

What you really meant is that RINO Republicans threaten third party if Cheney's replaced. There will be exactly 100 people in that party.

I don't think that a new "moderate Republican" party is that likely to be created at all.

It would make a lot more sense just for the moderates to expel the 75 million Little Trumpsters and take the GOP back over. Maybe nominate Romney again, or Kasich or General Colin Powell in 2024- or perhaps even JEB!.

How about Dick Cheney, Liz's dad?

Someone who has paid their dues among the moderates and is available for the 2024 campaign and ready to run to finish a strong 2nd.

Maybe in a few years the Democratic Party can divide, and we'll be back to where we started - minus the Trumpbot idiots!
Trump backers are the latest historical manifestation of the influence of white supremacy on US politics; do you believe we will ever be rid of that malignancy?

What the Capitol insurgency reveals about white supremacy and law enforcement

The old saying "people that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" applies to both parties.
There is no honesty in politics, its all about spin and whataboutism.
Neither side can get many points because they are both guilty.
Years ago engineers were way more conservative than the "liberal arts" folks.
I'm surprised you're so liberal/leftist/progressive.

We the people wont hold our own political party of preference accountable for what they say or do. Both party's work against the average American. LIES & half truths are expectable. Why? because winning is more important than honesty.
Both major parties make policy for the benefit of their respective donor class:

Investment theory of party competition - Wikipedia.

"The Investment theory of party competition is a political theory developed by Thomas Ferguson, Emeritus Professor of Political Science at the University of Massachusetts Boston. The theory focuses on how business elites, not voters, play the leading part in political systems.

"The theory offers an alternative to the conventional, voter-focused, Voter Realignment theory and Median voter theorem, which has been criticized by Ferguson and others."

Less RINOs equal a better America.
Less rich people = more democracy.

Investment theory of party competition - Wikipedia

"According to Ferguson, who credits the insight to Downs, one of the reasons that wealthy investors are able to influence politics to their advantage is that much of the politically relevant information that is so expensive for ordinary citizens to acquire comes quite naturally to businesses in the course of their daily operations.

"An example might include international banks whose business contacts constitute 'a first-rate foreign policy network'."

There are some. But they are currently between a rock and a hard place. The price for getting rid of Trump will be a short term setback and a few "rebuilding years". Hopefully they'll find the backbone to do it. Better now than digging the hole deeper.

Trump brought new voters to the GOP, so why should the GOP get rid of Trump?

Maybe....maybe 100 no name republican grifters are going to go out and grift for democrats now to make some benjamins.......

Meanwhile, the Republicans are getting ready to fight the fascists in the racist, democrat party.

Please don't.

Because the voters that Trump brought are really, really stupid.

Everyone demonizes the donor class, the corporatists and other political elites, while canonizing the average voter.

As Trump has proven, a very large percent of 'average voters' are flaming idiots.

And as politicians have proven for years, the vast majority of 'average voters' will NEVER elect an honest politician.

The 'average voter' can not handle the truth - so politicians HAVE TO LIE - or they'll never get elected.

At least the donor class, the corporatists and other political elites have some knowledge and intelligence. The same can not be said of the 'Average Voter' - a quick slogan on the level of a nursery rhyme is all they need to get sold on any issue:

'MAGA'

Yep. This is why calls for more democracy seem kind of dumb. We've got too much as it is.

I left the Republican party when obama had his personal illegal war with Libya and murdered 130,000 Libyans he told us he had to save to start his genocide. The Republican lead Congress did nothing. When the South African Lawyers Association put out a statement saying obama had murdered thousands of innocent people all across Africa including over 500 children once again the party I left did nothing. I have the perfect name for this new party THE ENABLER PARTY.
