"Timothy Miller has been charged with aggravated battery and malfeasance in officer for allegedly tasing a suspect who called him a racial slur during a September arrest. According to legal documents obtained by KNOE-TV, Miller reportedly repeatedly asked the suspect, whose identity has not yet been made public, to get into his patrol vehicle. However, the individual refused and Miller then allegedly drew out his Taser and the suspect got into the car. It’s still not known what exactly was said to the cop after the suspect sat inside the vehicle -- but Miller reportedly tased the person in response.

The officer was subsequently placed on a three-day leave on Sept. 27 and as of Friday, Oct. 29, Miller had been booked into Ouachita Correctional Center. Monroe Police Chief Victor Zordan said he expects “nothing less than the highest levels of professionalism and integrity from our officers in the performance of their duties.”

This is how police accountability is supposed to work...it shouldn't take multiple months to years to charge a guy who does something this egregious...and if you don't know what was said to this cop; how can you claim it was racial slurs?? It was the cop's own racism that caused him to tase an unarmed man who was not a threat to him. And for those so-called Blue Lives Matter folks who always try to justify police brutality by saying "they should have complied, they should complied" -- Nope...there is no excuse for what this cop did....none.....Bad cops are notorious for claiming someone didn't comply as a way to cover up punching, choking, tasing or shooting a guy.

The person could have called him an actual racist slur but the cop still can not do this. There are multiple stories a week where police officers are now being hold accountable for their actions.

Oh fuck you....don't call 911 next time then. Demand the same perfection from yourself that you demand of people willing to put their lives on the line for public safety.

This is a sad argument. "Don't call cops unless you support them violating rights".

I dismiss that argument out of hand.

He shouldn’t have been tazed. The cop should have used his sidearm instead.

it’s simple folks… Do what the cop tells you to or expect to get DEAD.
