RHR WORKER DEFENDS EXTREMISTS

"Palestinians from the village of Qusra reported yesterday (January 7) that they captured and detained eight settlers from the nearby illegal outpost Esh Kodesh after they entered the village in an apparent “price tag” attack. The attempted attack was apparently precipitated by the IDF dismantling structures in the settlers’ outpost. *The Palestinians called in the Israeli security forces in addition to calling RHR’s Palestinian field worker Zacharia Sada, believing he could help resolve the situation as swiftly and as safely as possible. *Additionally, the villagers called another Palestinian field worker from the Israeli NGO Yesh Din. The two workers rushed to the scene where they, along with a Palestinian Authority worker and other villagers attempted to stop any fighting between the two parties–specifically,*between the settlers and enraged youngsters from the village."

According to RHR, ultimately the Palestinians transferred the settlers they caught to the Israeli forces.

RHR states that Zacharia, RHR’s Palestinian field worker, the field worker from Yesh Din, village residents and other human rights activists managed to facilitate a swift, smooth and safe resolution to the affair and calm tempers.

RHR expresses their belief that Zacharia’s presence and participation prevented a dangerous situation from getting out of hand.

"We are proud of him and all who helped diffuse the situation. Their behavior exemplifies RHR’s greatest mandate that every human being, no matter how hateful his actions, *is deserving of protection and justice, and honors our deepest conviction that within all human beings is the image of God. RHR is glad to be a name the Palestinians know they can turn to in times of need and threat. Nevertheless, we call on the IDF to do more to prevent these types of incidents in the future, specifically, by increasing security after demolitions in outposts.
Finally, we thank our partners from Yesh Din, who provide the residents with legal aid and collect testimonies about violence. Lawyers from RHR are handling similar files from the nearby village of Jalud, which also suffers from the extremists from Esh Kodesh."

for those confused by the thread title------what really happened was a squabble
broke out between jews and arabs and some rabbis intervened to diffuse the situation
and make sure no one got murdered. A very very PHARISEE action on their part---
HILLEL WOULD APPROVE. In the BETH DIN-----all parties----males, females, jews,
gentiles-----all have equal rights -------nothing like shariah courts. An interesting
factoid feature of very ancient jewish ideology differs remarkably from the GREEK
notion of "rights" Ancient jewish writings discussed the concept of a just
society------one of the criteria was A COURT SYSTEM with the same criteria
for all people------This idea shows up even in Genesis. It is a clear repudiation of
the CODE OF HUMMARABI in which rights depended on social class. Penalties
for PERSONAL INJURY (including homicide) varied to the point that it
was virtually legal for a "nobleman" to kill a peasant. In fact shariah law in which
the "value" of a non muslim is considered something like 1/4 the value of a muslim---
is a throw back to BABYLONIAN LAW------the system which ABRAHAM ABANDONED

But, Mrs. Sherri, did the Rabbis mention that the Palestinians said that next time they catch the men, they will slaughter them. Maybe they wilkl use their popular method of beheading the way other Arabs do.

Even when the Pals do something right, you still feel the need to trash them.

What have they done right, they physically abused the Israeli's. All they had to do was surround them and offer no violence and then it would have been "doing something right"

In the UK if you touch a person who is committing a crime and they get hurt you will face a charge of assault, that is what the filastins should be facing now. The Israelis should be facing the same charges plus incitement to violence.
