Question for White Women

I'm the CEO of my companies, and I don't have a business degree. Bill Gates is a college dropout, as is Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg's the fifth richest man on the planet and he has a high school diploma.

The people who become CEO's are the people who aren't afraid of challenges and of failures...

You are substantiating my point in that most CEOs are not qualified, overpaid, and do not earn what they are paid.
Bill Gates for example, stole, bought, or patched the work of others, and has about the worst operating system out there over the decades.
He won by destroying other companies through cheating, hiring away key employees, extorting retailers, and a variety of unethical moves that IBM empowered him to be able to do.

Socialism would produce far better, useful, and inexpensive products.
And before you claim socialism would mean lack of innovation, remember it was socialism that created the internet and all the network protocols.

Oh, like all the great quality stuff produced in Russia, North Korea and China.

He and his buddies damn near destroyed Microsoft too by taking all the cream straight off the top for decades.

Very true. They won't work overtime, take time off and make demands by emotional outburst.
I didn't see emotional outbursts very much, they didn't have much effect in a union shop. One notable exception was a woman tech who had been refused a compassionate transfer. She just sat down in the middle of the driveway and refused to move or talk. Supervisors just coned her off, directed the vans around her so she didn't get run over (she wasn't very popular with the other techs of both sexes) and called the paramedics who took her away for psychiatric observation. She never returned to work and I never found out what eventually happened to her. The worst person we had was a Jehova's Witness (I think) he claimed he couldn't work Saturdays because of his religious beliefs. At the time we were working alternate to every third Saturday. The other techs got tired of his games and filed a joint grievance with the Union for religious preference. It was finally resolved by forcing him to use his vacation days for his assigned Saturdays and unpaid time off when he had used up his vacation. He still tried to weasel out of the deal by using up his vacation quickly, so management had to restrict him from scheduling vacation until he had scheduled days to cover all his anticipated Saturdays. He wasn't a happy camper after that. Oh one of the solutions that was offered to him was to take a lower paying job that didn't require Saturday work, he refused that offer.

I recall a woman attorney, a real powerhouse. She was firmly on the partner track of her law firm. She had a baby and inexplicably took 5 years off. It turned into six years and two babies before she came back. When she did come back, she came back to where she was when she left. A year later, the man hired to replace her made partner. She screamed bloody murder at being passed over in favor of a man hired years after her. In her mind, the years she was out should have counted for her seniority. They didn't.

Never heard of any computers or operating systems coming out of Russia, North Korea, or China.
But anyone who remembers computers before around 1995, will remember things like Apple, Atari, Commodore, Compaq, Sinclair, Amstrad, Spectrum, Amiga, etc., with great operating systems, like Geos, Tripos, OpenLook, QuarterDeck, GEM. etc.
Windows did not come around until around 1995, and was always, big, slow, and buggy.
Worst operating system ever.
Did you know that Windows first boots up to DOS, and then reboots a 2nd time to Windows?
Slowest booting OS there has ever been.

Historically, when has that ever happened, and what are the products?

Just about everything.
For example, almost all medical advances come from land grant universities, that exist because of socialism.
And as I already pointed out, the Internet is a darpa invention the government later gave away to the private domain.

After 5 years, one really needs to start over again.
Although you have to admire her guts for trying a hopeless argument.

China didn't invent what the slave labor in their country produces. Apple et all can afford the quality control to ensure that products don't immediately fail.

I'll note that items manufactured today are "disposables" with short useful lives. That is by design and plays right into the global slave labor economy.

I see.

So, you're stupid enough to believe that a college diploma is what qualifies someone to be a CEO?

How monumentally ignorant of you.

I've built my two companies up from, quite literally, nothing. I didn't inherit them, and I didn't move up the corporate ladder as others retired. Once upon a time, my "corporate ladder" had one step. My two companies pay me very well. At 59 years old I'm quite comfortable, enjoy a life which many would envy, and can retire for good if I so choose.

But that contrasts with all those years when I was operating in the red. It contrasts the years when I would use my American Express to pay my Visa bill so that I could use my checking account to pay Mastercard. It contrasts all those years when I'd questioned whether or not I'd lost my mind by starting not one, but two companies almost concurrently, getting paid by neither of them for the first few years. It contrasts my first year as an employer, when I had two employees tell me they were willing to work for less to keep the business open (both are still with me). It contrasts those first few years where, instead of dining at Capital Grill dinner would consist of bean and cheese burritos at Taco Bell.

I've already earned what I'm paid...

Wow. That sounds very reasonable.

And if he religion was his real motivation, he should have been willing to make the sacrifice.

The company bent over backwards to accommodate him. That’s why the rest of the techs took the unprecedented step of filing a grievance against another employee. We got tired of often only having ONE weekend with our families a month while he had four.
