For those not following the Russia-Ukraine tensions, this week has had developments. Russia has been amassing troops at the Ukraine border. In response, we made clear we were considering sending missiles to Ukraine. When that broke, Russia pulled back its forces, saying it had completed its exercise. They also invited Zelensky for talks to end the conflict.

And to think, Democratic nations caused a bully to fold and no one even asked for help fixing a domestic election in the process.

Well, the is Putin down to a tee. He is very cost effective in his foreign policy. Do only that which is cheap. If it's going to cost money, the pull out, wait for another time.

Trump already sent hundreds of missiles to Ukraine, jackass.

Obama/Biden gave the entire strategically important Crimean peninsula to Putin.

I never understood that expression. A quality suit folds significantly better than a cheap one.

I prefer the expression, "Folds like Superman on laundry day."
Cheap suits are usually made of thinner, lighter fabrics and often lack a lining, making them fold easily, but not necessarily well.

I remember the Cuban missile crisis. When the American public was told Pres. Kennedy had backed the Russians down, and forced them to remove all their nuclear missiles from Cuba.
We were shown newsreel films on TV of Russian ships hurriedly steaming away because they feared America's military might.
It wasn't until years later the truth finally came out.
Pres. Kennedy had secretly made a deal with the Soviet leader Khrushchev to remove our missile's in Turkey in exchange for him removing his missile's in Cuba.

It was likely just a diversion from the Nalvany protests??

I didn't know that!

Could be. I definitely think it is a two step forward, one step back kind of tap dance. It in no way means he does not plan to move across the dance floor. He does. It is just a pause, for now, leaving more forward than were there before the move. NATO is not fooled.

Well, it's probably convenient on a whole load of different levels.

GOP Leaving Out Key Detail in Touting Trump's Javelin Sale ...

Jan 24, 2020 · The Trump administration first approved the sale of Javelins to Ukraine in December 2017. The sale was competed in March 2018, when the State Department announced it would sell Ukraine 210 Javelin...

Throughout the impeachment proceedings, President Donald Trump's GOP allies in Congress have touted his administration's sale of Javelin missiles to Ukraine as evidence he's supported it against Russian aggression.

But Republicans have left out that the Ukrainians cannot actually use the anti-tank missiles in the conflict against pro-Russian separatists based on the terms of the sale.

A top staffer in the US embassy in Ukraine in November testified that the Javelins serve as an important deterrent but aren't "actively employed in combat operations right now."

Experts have said that Ukrainian soldiers are more appreciative and in greater need of nonlethal aid.

Anyone who thinks Putin was intimidated and backed down is mistaken.
He is a very shrewd and tough negotiator, and plays the long game for the win. ...

That he does. He's very good at the long game and I'd bet he thinks Biden is the idiot we all know he is.
