POLL: One Big Reason That Trump Was Elected

Does Trump owe it to his 2016 Voters to Immediately Nominate a Replacement for RBG?

  • Yes. He Does. Absolutely!

    Votes: 25 89.3%
  • No. Those Voters Votes Do Not Matter

    Votes: 3 10.7%

  • Total voters
    28
If you just look at the will of the people, the will of the people was with Hillary. She won by more than 3,000,000 more votes than Trump. Yeah, she lost via the electoral college, but that is not the question. The question is, what is the will of the people. Should those voters be dismissed?

This is a simple poll to make a relevant political point.

In the 2016 Presidential Election, one of the primary reasons that Trump voters voted for Trump over Hillary was to DENY Hillary the chance to nominate any Supreme Court justices. Trump won the election. It would be a betrayal of HIS voters confidence for him to do anything less than what he was elected to do.

Harry Reid got all sorts of flak for going with the "Nuclear" option. And rightly so, he changed the rules to win the game. When the tables were turned, the GOP did him one better and upped the stakes. Now, many want Mitch to change HIS rule to win. It's a case of might makes right and is a path to chaos. There will be no winners in the long term.

What if the GOP goes ahead and fills the seat and the Dems win the House, Senate, and WH? Will the Dems be justified in putting a few more seats on SCOTUS and flip it from majority GOP appointments to majority Dem appointments? Perfectly legal.

I'm not surprised the the basic point in the OP has sailed right over your head.

One of the reasons that people voted for Trump in 2016 was to give HIM the ability to replace any Supreme Court Justices and to DENY Hitlary a chance to do the same.

True or False?
I'm not surprised you chose to ignore the election results of 2018.

Bwahahahahahaha!

You must mean the election where the Republican Senate (those who advise consent and confirm the SCOTUS Nominees) actually GAINED two more seats!

Why would I ignore that?

It only solidifies my point in the OP.
Yeah the election where Democrats had to defend seats in 10 states that supported Donald Trump (R) over Hillary Clinton (D) in 2016, while Republicans had to defend just one seat in a state won by Clinton. The same election where the Dems gained 40 House seats.

2018 was also the year Democrats gained control of 9 state and territorial governorships that had previously been held by Republicans and an independent. Democrats also won the total popular vote for the year's gubernatorial elections for the second year in a row. Like the 2016 presidential election, Republicans won a majority of governorships despite losing the popular vote by almost three million votes. Democrats won the popular vote nationally by 3.1 points, an improvement against the presidential popular vote margin in 2016.

Trump didn't lose in 2018, the republicans lost because of decades of cowardly actions and republican politicians backstabbing republican voters....Trump won in 2016 but he wasn't on in 2018 so republican voters didn't show up to support the cowards and weasles in the republican party...

2020 is not 2018...Trump is on the ballot again and he will have coattails a mile long...if the republicans don't act like cowards....and stand with Trump.

Yes...the same way yardage is not how you win a football game. The rules are the rules.....created to make sure small states did not become the slaves of the big states....it was a genius creation by the Founders...to protect us from people like you.

"One Big Reason That Trump Was Elected""

Because Trump is a racist.
That's the glue that keeps his base together.
From dog whistles to all out megaphone, Trump attracts racists.

""I. “You Don’t Want to Live With Them Either”
The Justice Department’s 1973 lawsuit against Trump Management Company focused on 39 properties in New York City. The government alleged that employees were directed to tell African American lease applicants that there were no open apartments.

II. “Bring Back the Death Penalty”
The so-called Central Park Five were a group of black and Latino teens who were accused—wrongly—of raping a white woman in Central Park on April 19, 1989. Trump took out full-page ads in all four major New York newspapers to argue that perpetrators of crimes such as this one “should be forced to suffer” and “be executed.”

III. “They Don’t Look Like Indians to Me”
In the early 1990s, Trump attempted to block the building of new casinos in Connecticut and New York that could cut into his casino operations in Atlantic City. (All of Trump’s casinos eventually went into bankruptcy.) In October 1993, Trump appeared before the House Subcommittee on Native American Affairs of the Committee on Natural Resources.

IV. “Our Very Vicious World”
In the summer of 2005, Donald Trump had an idea: What if the next season of his reality-TV show, The Apprentice, pitted “a team of successful African Americans versus a team of successful whites”? Trump thought the format would be a sort of social commentary—“reflective of our very vicious world.”

V. “He Doesn’t Have a Birth Certificate”
“Our current president came out of nowhere, came out of nowhere … The people who went to school with him—they never saw him; they don’t know who he is.” That statement, made at the February 2011 Conservative Political Action Conference, marked the launch of Donald Trump’s public efforts to sow doubt about whether President Barack Obama had been born in the United States.

VI. “Fine People On Many Sides”
Roughly six months into Trump’s presidency, on the night of Friday, August 11, 2017, hundreds of neo-Nazis and white supremacists marched onto the University of Virginia’s campus in Charlottesville chanting “Jews will not replace us” and “Blood and soil,” a Nazi slogan.

VII. “Go Back to Their Huts”
In office, Donald Trump followed through on his promise to curb immigration from majority-Muslim countries. He created a commission to investigate voter fraud (virtually nonexistent, according to state election officials), claiming that he would have won the popular vote but for millions of ballots cast by people in the U.S. illegally. ..."""

Let's not forget that he thinks Mexicans are rapists and murderers and his remark about Judge Curiel (born in Iowa) ruled against him in the 9th District court because "he's a Mexican".

Wow...you are stupid........stop mixing booze and drugs, they make you really stupid.

The real racists are the democrat party....the home of racists of all colors.....

That was not your question. Your question was whether certain voters should be ignored. I am asking should the majority of voters be ignored regardless of Trump's electoral college victory. Should they be?

True or False?

False.

False because there were at least 17 times that a nominee was processed in an election year, prior to 2016.

So, if anything, they deviated from the precedent, rather than to establish it.

YES,

According to the Constitution. That is the way it works. The winner, as determined by the Electoral College gets to decide. Period.

The connection made in the OP is that TRUMP, once elected by the EC, owes it to HIS voters to do that which THEY elected him to do.

Okay thanks. Legally speaking you are obviously correct. The winner of the electoral college wins. Trump has followed the same path as W. That is to say they ignored the majority of voters and just enacted their own agendas regardless. It was their right. However, though it may be their right, their policies or SCOTUS picks did not reflect the will of the people.

Democrats MUST LEARN they do not own this SCOTUS seat. It's not their property.
Neither does the GOP. Why not let the people decide as Mitch and Biden have said? I didn't realize how scared of losing the Right has become, that is the only reason I can see to fill the seat before election day.

We never claimed to own the seat deflect-o-potamus. Dems are the ones throwing a tantrum, threatening to impeach and pack the court if president Trump dares nominate a replacement which is his RIGHT under the Constitution as POTUS.

The people did decide in 2016 and 2018 when they gave the Presidency and the Senate to the Republicans.....the term doesn't end for them in October, it ends in January.......they have the constitutionally given power to nominate and confirm a new Justice.

Oooooh....you called us scaredy cats......that really hurts.................not as much as it will hurt you if we can get that nominee confirmed, you doofus.

No no no we must have more elections, as many as needed until Dems get to fill the seat. Even if that takes 10-12 years. Otherwise we'll burn your shit down, we'll pack the court, we'll impeach everyone. :aargh:

The fact is Trump's term is 4 years not 3.8 years. We'll just tell Dems tough shit and fill the seat. Suck it Dems you losers.
