NASHVILLE — Tennessee Ghetto Rep. Larry Miller, D-Memphis, a member of the Legislative Ghetto Black Caucus, said he was surprised to learn Wednesday the state’s largest teachers union gives vastly more money to white Democrats compared to black Democrats.
“That’s amazing,” Miller told Tennessee Watchdog Tuesday upon learning, for instance, that the Tennessee Education Association gave State Rep. Bo Mitchell, D-Nashville, who is white, $23,000 for the 2012 and 2014 election cycles.

PROTEST: The Tennessee Education Association has a disparity in who it donates to, records show.
Mitchell was unavailable for comment Wednesday.
According to state records available on the state’s Bureau of Ethics and Campaign Finance’s website, the TEA only gave Miller $4,000 for those two elections.
The TEA, often aligned with Democrats, spent $441,250 on candidates during the 2012 and 2014 election cycles, records show.
Those same records say $303,950 of that money went to Democratic candidates for the state Legislature.
