Police Body Camera Footage Vindicates The Police

"After a last-minute delay, North Carolina authorities finally allowed family to view a heavily redacted version of body camera footage in last week’s deadly police shooting of Andrew Brown Jr. — an unarmed Black man who apparently tried to drive off from sheriff’s deputies as they moved in to arrest him. Only two family members were allowed in to see a small clip of the video, which was about 20 seconds long, The video seen by the family did not begin from the start of the confrontation with Brown, lawyers said.

Attorneys said shots were already being fired at the man as the 20-second video began. Lassiter said Brown’s hands remained on the steering wheel as officers continued shooting at him. At least seven or eight officers were on the scene; Some of the officers were SWAT team members and some may have been plain-clothed, lawyers said. Only one officer’s bodycam footage was shown to the family and no other footage or dashcam video was presented to the family."

Some folks may complain that all of the body cam footage wasn't released but none of that matters...everyone knows you only need a few seconds of video footage in order to tell the full story of what happened -- and the full story is, the police were well in their right to shoot this guy because he was a convicted felon and was being served a warrant for another felony....If you are a felon and you try to evade arrest, that is an admission of guilt and the police should be able to shoot you right then and there....and save the taxpayers money...

Are the cops okay?
If you are asking if any police were injured...no....thankfully..

However the emotional toll this has taken on them and their families is far worse than anything that felon and his felon producing family is going thru

Is there a GoFundMe yet?

TIA!

The statement " everyone knows you only need a few seconds of video footage in order to tell the full story of what happened - " is absolutely false as everyone knows.

All of the tapes need to be released to the public.

How does the body cam footage vindicate the police?

It doesn't. OP is a troll

No all the tapes do not need to be released.

Yea, its called the police union.....

The AJC article says the police had the car surrounded. The perpetrator then tried to back out of the driveway and flee.

If LEO's were in the path of the vehicle that does give them the legal right in most states to use lethal force.

The question is ... were shots fired BEFORE the perpetrator attempted to flee.

Or, did he attempt to flee after shots were fired.

Apparently the 20 srcond clip does not answer that question.

Many of us see this story and it immediately chimes with another debate on these forums.
I wonder if any of the officers involved in this had been dismissed from another force previously.

Maybe all of them for all that I know. Perhaps the police department could make a statement outlining their collective disciplinary records. This could also include commendations for killing members of the public.

We should know if these are clean cops or not. In that sense the video becomes irrelevant.

Except from eye witness accounts -- the police were not in path of the car...he drove "AWAY" from them.....which is why so many shots were coming from "BEHIND" the car..

Now the police can put this whole thing to bed by releasing the body cam footage......you know, like they do when they feel pretty confident the footage will vindicate them

Welcome to a new world where the police have to actually justify taking a life. Shit like this where the police are less than forthcoming with their record of a killing does nothing to vindicate them. It only makes it seem they have wrongdoing to cover up.
Start by reducing the criminal code. Near anything can be a crime. Its just whether it is enforced or not. You just want the free money that suckers pay in fees and fines to grease state, federal, city and local government entities.
But the greedy kleptocrats want the income from petty crimes.

It's especially bad in Democrat cities. They try to nickel and dime the populace to death with fines and fees for every little thing.

A while back the Democrat mayor here, Carty Finkbeiner, started having the cops go around ticketing any car that was parked on a stone driveway.

Apparently while trying to figure out new creative ways to fuck the poor (a favorite Democrat pastime), he discovered an obscure WWII era law meant to conserve rubber during the war. (when tires were actually made of real rubber). Then sent the police out to scour the city for cars on stone driveways.

Unbelievable but true.
The data doesn't support that bullshit you just pulled out of your ass.....
I've researched it. The top 5 cities in fines per capita are DC, NYC, Chicago, New Orleans and Boston. All Democrat shitholes, as expected.

DC is by far the worst.

I am so burned out by the antics of crazy people with the black brain disease that I really no longer care how many incidents of resisting arrest result in the dead body of a Black Lies Matter hero

From the article in your OP:

"At one point Brown began to back out the driveway"

You are speculating "the police were not in path of the car" ....

They showed the family 20 seconds...how much more do these people want??

The police were obviously afraid for their safety and there are reports that this guy was a pretty bad driver....so the police had no choice
Aren’t there rules against posting troll threads?
It's not a troll thread so much as sarcasm. Possibly it would be better on that board, but then people respond to threads there "as if" they were oblivious to sarcasm or irony.

I do wonder, seriously, if cop shops really see some strategy in selectively putting out the video. At best it makes them look guilty and when the entire video is eventually seen it may seem even worse.

I am not speculating -- I am citing the lawyers and family members who watched the video as well as the witnesses who were there.....

As I said....it will be far easier (especially if the police are confident this was a good shoot) -- to release the full body cam footage....
