Whenever a media darling gets an endorsement it is reported like the word just came down from on high. The truth is that one endorsement out of a thousand might have a minimal influence on the way a few conservatives vote. Sarah Palin endorsed Donald Trump and did herself more harm than the help Trump received. Now, compare Sarah’s plug for Trump to Phyllis Schlafly pulling the plug on Marco Rubio before you decide which one means more:

“When Marco Rubio ran for the Senate in Florida, I think I was the first one to endorse him,” said Phyllis Schlafly. “I made a trip down to Florida in 2009 just for the purpose of helping him.”

XXXXX

“Once he got elected, he betrayed us all,” she told WND. “He said he was against amnesty and against the establishment. And once he got in, right away, he became an agent of the establishment. And now, of course, he’s big for amnesty and letting all the illegal immigrants in. He betrayed us a number of times on that issue.”

XXXXX

“He’s a lackey for the establishment now,” she said. “There’s no question they’re picking up as Plan B – or maybe Plan C in this election cycle, or whatever we’re on now – but he certainly is an establishment agent.”

XXXXX

Rubio was also identified by Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., as the person designated to “neutralize” and “proselytize” conservative opposition.

XXXXX

“Immigration right now is the biggest issue. All you need to do is look at Europe, and you can see that,” she said. “But there are other issues like trade where Rubio has aligned with the establishment against the American worker.”

XXXXX

"Trade is a big issue," Schlafly argued. "The whole thing with how they are pushing these trade agreements and mass immigration is a cheat and a lie to the American people. And Rubio has joined the group that is pushing it."

Schlafly also criticized Rubio's foreign-policy credentials, as early in his term of office the freshman Florida senator enthusiastically backed President Obama’s campaign to remove the regime of Moammar Gadhafi in Libya.

XXXXX

She criticized Rubio as just the latest front man for the "kingmakers" she has denounced her entire career.

XXXXX

She dismissed any hopes Rubio could redeem himself to conservatives.

"As soon as he got in there, he betrayed us all," she reiterated. "Don't make it look like I'm supporting him now."

Schlafly unloads on Rubio: ‘He betrayed us all’

Rubio fooled Phyllis and a lot of others before he got in. As you can see, it did not take Phyllis long to see her mistake. As for me, I distrusted Marco Rubio when he was being touted as Mitt Romney’s running mate. Rubio fronting for The Gang of Eight later on only reaffirmed what I knew all along.

As I’ve said for years, conservatives cannot elect a Republican wannabe —— YET —— but they can defeat one. Right now establishment Republicans are betting they will beat the Democrat in a boat race. Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton or even Mighty Joe Biden gave establishment Republicans so much confidence they can win without the conservative vote. Clearly, 2008 and 2012 taught them nothing. They seem to forget that Taqiyya the Liar in 2008 was a bigger pushover than Hillary Clinton. He was a bigger pushover in 2012 with the ACA in his pocket. The only pushover I can see is nominating Marco Rubio. He is a surefire way to go down the same path traveled by Bob Dole, John McCain, and Mitt Romney.

Finally, Hillary Clinton & Company saying they fear Rubio the most is called a rope-a-dope endorsement:

What is so unnerving to them at this early phase of the 2016 presidential campaign still seems, at worst, a distant danger: the prospect of a head-to-head general-election contest between Mr. Rubio, the Republican senator from Florida, and Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Yet the worriers include some on Mrs. Clinton’s team. And even former President Bill Clinton is said to worry that Mr. Rubio could become the Republican nominee, whittle away at Mrs. Clinton’s support from Hispanics and jeopardize her chances of carrying Florida’s vital 29 electoral votes.

A Hillary Clinton Match-Up With Marco Rubio Is a Scary Thought for Democrats

The governor establishment candidates used Marco Rubio for target practice. If Marco Rubio is in the pocket of the establishment, why would establishment candidates want to take him down.

To Blackrook: That is easy. They all want to be the media’s choice. Go back to the 2014 midterms and you will see that Chris Christie and Jeb Bush had their shot at being the establishment’s choice. Jeb Bush more so in 2015. Carson got a lot of play, but he never stood a chance. Right now Rubio is the establishment’s best hope. Christie is back for another try, and Kasich is hoping to be called up from the minors.

Notice that media mouths made a big deal out of telling us that the governors are looking good. I call them the:

NOTE: With the exception of Ronald Reagan TELEVISION picked every candidate in both parties since 1960. See this thread

The electronic media began electing presidents in 1960. Don Hewitt (1922 - 2009) of 60 Minutes fame often bragged that he elected two presidents —— JFK and Bill Clinton.

Spinning The Issues To Fit The Candidate

Bottom line: Establishment choice guaranties media support. Every one of them wants to replace Rubio in the hearts and minds of media kingmakers.

kingmaker (noun)

One who has the political power to influence the selection of a candidate for high public office.

kingmaking adjective & noun

Incidentally, Ted Cruz is the only wannabe the Washington Establishment cannot live with.

These two articles do more than pull the plug on Marco Rubio —— they use plungers to clear the drain:

Legendary conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly and her organization Eagle Forum have released a new report detailing what she called Rubio’s long history of “betraying” conservatives.

The memo details specific promises made by Rubio to conservative supporters when he was running for Senate. It also offers evidence of how he broke those vows once elected to the United States Senate. At the top of the list is amnesty for illegal immigrants.

“Really what I think he is, besides being a pathological liar, is he’s like a Stepford candidate,” said Joyce Kaufman, whose station, WFTL in Fort Lauderdale, promotes her as “South Florida’s leading independent voice.”

In an interview with WND, Kaufman cited Rubio’s murky record on immigration. While he currently insists he opposes amnesty for illegal aliens, he defends his partnership with seven senators, including four Democrats, in the “Gang of Eight” plan that provided a path to citizenship.

“He’ll say whatever you need him to say,” she said. “… He doesn’t care if it’s the truth or not. He’s not going to follow through anyway.”

Television should be crucifying Bernie Sanders because of his Socialist/Communist politics. Television should be crucifying Hillary Clinton for any number of known-facts that would sink a Republican. So why should Ted Cruz give O’Reilly an opportunity to score points for an establishment Republican opponent —— which is exactly what O’Reilly is playing at. On top of it all, O’Reilly slyly implies that Cruz has to come on The Factor to prove he is not hiding something:

O'Reilly: Cruz Complains About FOX News Coverage, But Refuses To Come On My Show

O'Reilly: Cruz Complains About FOX News Coverage, But Refuses To Come On My Show

Bottom line: O’Reilly, and every other television mouth, is deathly afraid of losing control of the nominating process.
With the exception of Ronald Reagan TELEVISION picked every candidate in both parties since 1960.
An absence of physical torture is the only things missing on talk shows when the inquisitor is only interested in wringing a confession out of the accused. If every wannabe refuses to do interviews on so-called news shows the inquisitor’s words have to stand alone.

Phyllis fell in love with Rubio because she thought he had a purty mouth.

Now that he's broken her heart, maybe Rexx Taylor will ask her out. They can talk about his favorite subject, adult diapers:

All conservatives who endorse Trump will one day regret that decision.

And we will not be forgiving.

To Blackrook: I agree. Even if he is on the side of the angels, Democrat liars will eat him alive because he goes in thinking he can out-negotiate them. There is no negotiating with Socialists. They will never compromise on one iota of their agenda because the media covers for them. Democrat traitors never backed down in the past. Trump will not change them. Ted Cruz is the one guy who will give Democrats a taste of their own tactics regardless of RINO opposition and the media.
