Pizza joint vs professor

Yeah...you are correct...a business success who ALSO knows how to get members of congress to act is by no means someone we wnat in the white house.

Director of KC Federal Reserve Bank. Book author, mathematician, Vice President of Pillsbury. Board of Directors for 4 major companies, CEO of the Nat. Restaurant Association.

Bit more than a Pizza place, and yes at least as qualified as a professor. Especially one so clearly out of his Depths on so many issues.

Harvard Law graduate Hmmm wonder how he did in school, have you seen his transcripts??
, president Harvard Law Review, Can you show us some of what he wrote or did during his tenure?, lawyer, Professor of Constitutional law, Nope, not a professor, senior lecturer was his title, book author (like that matters), state senator In Illinois lol, US senator Most liberal US Senator when he didn't vote "present". Oops, looks like he didn't make any pizzas. I guess the rest of his resume will have to be good enough.

His college transcripts are none of your business and they are inconsequential to being POTUS; his writings during his tenure as president of Harvard Law Review are also inconsequential to being POTUS; his time in the classroom (however you want to classify it) is still more than you've done; is it funny to be a senator from IL? How patriotic of you to dismiss an entire state just because you don't like Obama.

Don't be too proud of yourself for making my sig. You embarrassed yourself so bad, I'm surprised you're showing your face on here. You thought I was black and made an ass out of yourself when you accused me of lying about being white.:lol::lol:

And look at what good all of those credentials have done. Obama is the most incompetent president in American history.

Let's see. He avoided the next Great Depression; credit card and financial reform; health care reform; ended DADT; fair pay for women (the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act); saved Detroit; pulled out of Iraq; stepped it up in Afghanistan - decimating AQ, including killing Bin Laden.

That's just off the top of my head. He has accomplished much more than that.

How incompetent of him.

LOL

Please run of that... PLEASE!

All I'm going to say is that my GF's parents are visiting and they used to be big Obama supporters... Not anymore, just like all the others (except one person) that I know that voted for Obama...

So good luck guys, "saved us from another Great Depression" L-O-fucking-L, can you even hear yourself?

BTW, Bush saved the country from 98 Great Depressions... And if you don't believe he did show me where we were in one when Bush was President. It seems all a President has to do these days is not have something happen to claim they "saved us" or did something great.

Oh, and my GF's dad calls what we are in a Depression, he is very liberal for the record.

Being an academic is fine...but not if that means you choose people who, like you, are academics in their specialized field- having no real practical experience i.e. Obama. Academics usually have little practical experience outside the books and classroom.

This parsing over businessman VS academic seems to indicate you cannot be both- stupid. It also seems to indicate you must be one or the other...likewise-stupid.

Give me a man or woman with a love of country; honest humility; and a huge dose of common sense any day-regardless of his or her background.

Obama's biggest appeal, when orating off his teleprompter, was his seeming eloquence. Yet he has proven to be, not much more, then a politician who resides within a bubble of a theoretical kumbaya land. He has taken this nation, of individualists', and attempted to force us into his ideal of a Western European socialist democracy- A play right out of academia. The trouble is not just with the fact that we are a single nation of 400 million people and not 30 million, but that we do not think like; act like; or wish to be- socialists.

You and your in-laws are unable to grasp the concept that the stimulus kept us from going into a depression. Good for you. You must be very proud of yourself. I couldn't care less how disappointed with Obama your liberal father-in-law is. If he's willing to abandon Obama for a Republican, then his liberal principles must not be too important to him.

I'll get back to appreciating the many accomplishments of Obama and you can get back to being clueless. Have fun with that.

First of all, you wouldn't recognize sarcasm if it was thrown in your face. Well, now that you mention it, it was. LOL I believe you are the one that FAILED big time. However you don't know a thing about being embarrassed.

As for Illinois, have you seen what's going on there?? Businesses are packing up and high tailing it out of there, fast. They raised the tax rates nearly 70% so they can meet their blown up state deficits. And yes, I can dismiss an entire state that has no clue on what to do. My family is from Illinois, I lived there for 18 years. My family worked in the state government, even had a couple of politicians related to me. So being a senator from Illinois is quite a joke and deserves a laugh.

you may consider his trranscripts as none of our business...but if he wants me to consider voting for him, I would like to know how well he did in college seeinga s he does not have a long history as a business man or as a politician to evaluate him by.....strange you saw 3 years in politics enough to evaluate.

His writings are, in my eyes, NOT inconsequential, as when I evaluated his voting record, he voted "present" (no vote) a great majority of the time as a state senator...so I had no idea of what his positions were on many issues....so reading some of his writings would allow me to make an educated decisoion on him. I am kind of surprised that you did not need to know his thought process to make a decision on him....you "believed" his words only.

And as a state senator from Chicago....well...the most corrupt political machine in history....well....yeah, that most certainly gave me reason to want to see more of him from behind the scenes.

You see...you are tossing around the old..."none of your business" and "inconsequential" stuff....but then I must ask you...

What did you use to determine him to warrant your vote?

I have seen enough of Obama to know his transcripts are meaningless in light of his failure to lead...

yes..and that is my point. We had nothing to evaluate Obama on and look at the result...Im starting a new thread on this topic. Give it a few minutes....

I didn't say her father or anyone for that matter abandoned Obama, nor that they would vote for a Republican. If anything he (they) feel like Obama and people like yourself abandoned him/them.

I like Ron Paul so when we debate we bring him up a lot, he likes Ron Paul but I doubt he would vote for Ron Paul. He likes Ron Paul because he feels he is honest but he is not sold on the idea of leaving stuff up to the states and all that.

Obama is the most owned President in this country’s history by big corporations
Obama is one of the biggest war Presidents, even her father said Libya and Pakistan are wars Obama engaged in when I asked him.
Obama has not closed Guantanamo, or the Bush era tax cuts.. Obama expanded Afghanistan, lied about “ending the Iraq war” and expanded homeland security.
Obama just said he got 80% of everything he wanted done, done... in just under 3 years no less...

It’s easy for me to point all this out because I’m a true independent, I did a write in during 2008, no party owns me. You on the other hand are nothing more than a Bush bot now playing for Obama’s team.

This is funny as heck, the right want a non corrupt govt and a smaller govt and they want an ex corporate lobbyist as president?

Yeah...you are correct...a business success who ALSO knows how to get members of congress to act is by no means someone we wnat in the white house.

But to act in whose best interests?
The citizens or the corporations?
As we have seen they are often not the same thing. Corps move jobs offshore to increase profits.

So, would you rather a candidates major experience be running and leading businesses in the real world........or sitting in a closed environment full of stuck up academias who bloviate on how the world should work without actually taking part in it?

I'll now await a left winger to point out how "Screwing America up even more than it was" is somehow a positive on Obama's resume.

I take it you never went to college and really think that is what happens there.

No wonder your ideas are so tainted with historical failure

Actually, it appears that you never went to college...because that is EXACTLY what goes on there. Professors teach what they have learned...very few have actually practiced and THEN went to teaching.

The fact that you are not aware of this proves to me that you have not experienced higher education......confirming other sentiments I have about you.

That is ...ugh.

You do understand that only applies to certain fields of education.

You wouldn't hire an engineer who hasn't been to school. You wouldn't hire a mathematician who hasn't been to school. You wouldn't hire a doctor who hasn't been to school.

Such wide, sweeping statements are an act of one who does not understand the system.

Or is simply so biased in his view that he refuses to see any other option.

Yeah...profits that keep economic engines running.

Unions who are also "people" like Corporations are "people" have played a major role in creating the desire for corporations to seek a more business friendly environment.

Business's exist to make a profit.

You want corporations to keep jobs here? Create a competitive business environment- it really is that simple.

huh?

What do you mean.

I wouldnt hire any professional that has not been to school.

However, likewise, I would hire an experienced, educated ANYTHING over someone who is educated and TEACHES but doesnt have practical experience.

I dont understand what your post was trying to say.

I said nothingt about "being in school"

I apologize, as a Physicist I may see from a biased view, but education is just as important as experience. Obama's education was up to par, but his experience was not. We need a balance of the two.

Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it after all.

That's not what he said at all...

He said to get someone to do a job that ONLY has been to school, or even ONLY been a teacher can lead to something bad, like in the case of Obama... It's not that school is bad, it's that not having real world experience in where you can apply what you learned leading to a different kind of education known as "on the job" training.

More or less in the case of Obama, Obama in learning on the job, finding out what works and what does not work and because he never had the experience of that before he became President the country is suffering through it now.

JH, I agree 100%. I would not hire an electrician that had never wired a garage, I would not hire a surgeon that hasn't performed surgery. You go through a practical phase, applying what you learned in school before you are turned lose to install wiring or perform surgery.

Jeez, educated idiots are a dime a dozen today and they don't understand why it takes them so long to find a job in a down economy.
