Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney Issues DOUBLE Mask Mandate and Vaccination Mandate as a Condition of Employment

All that stands between the Democrat fascists and the end of the republic is the Supreme Court - let's pray they do the right thing.
When shove comes to push, the measure of a man comes into focus. It is difficult. A percentage of people have leadership abilities. Sadly, we have a small percentage of that in D.C. We have what are mobsters who get to wet their beak as they generously pass bills and social justice rights to their minions. An example is AOC. She is either an idiot, or a deep state mole. This is where we are at.

Virginia, but close enough. Fortunately, I live in a deep Red part of Virginia. It's quite nice here despite our state government. We have low cost of living, good paying jobs, no traffic, low crime, great schools, low taxes, etc.

North Carolina and George might be a little too Blue for me. South Carolina and Florida might be good choices.

I am hopeful that Youngkin has a chance to beat McAuliffe in our forthcoming election. Recent polls show it is a dead heat. And taking back our House and Senate from the Dems would be fantastic, but is probably unlikely.

So even though the CDC said last week that the vaccines do not prevent infection or transmission of COVID, and two recent studies by well-respected health authorities are showing that the Pfizer vaccine is only about 40% effective against the Delta strain (1, 2), Mayor Jim Kenney wants to force people to fall in line and behave with tyrannical orders which have at best, arguable effectiveness.

CDC now estimates that ~120 million Americans have already had COVID (3).

Businesses will have to require proof of vaccination to enter, otherwise, EVERYONE on site will be required to wear a mask...


Additionally, starting September 1st,
  • All City employees will be required to provide proof that they’ve completed their schedule of COVID-19 vaccinations,
  • New employees hired must be fully vaccinated a a condition of their employment, and
  • Employees who are not fully vaccinated by September 1 will be required to wear two masks (a cloth mask over a disposable or surgical mask) at all times while working on-site.

Some comments:

Notice that there is a double standard here. If a private business does not demand everyone is vaccinated, then everyone has to wear masks. For the government, there is no such requirement. Only the unvaccinated have to wear masks. Unscientific, and arguably illegal.

Won't these mandates disproportionately affect people of color?

Jim Kenney is on record for opposing stricter voter ID requirements, but he wants people to show ID to enter a private establishment.

In the Fall, some cities are projected to see a surge in cases. (4) I have yet to see any mandates to show papers to enter a grocery store, but when that happens, there is going to be violence.

I think what it is all about is that recent studies have shown that the kinds of masks most people wear are only about 10% effective so the idea is to double that so that the masks are then 20% effective. Stupid is as stupid does. At some point they will mandate that people have to wear 10 masks so that masks will be 100% effective.

Isn't this the kind of local governance the right claims to prefer?
 
At will employment is not a "get out of responsibility free" card.

Just like they can't fire someone for being black, saying "at will employment". There are laws against these things. Discrimination. You can't force someone to do something medically. You have NO RIGHT to.

But the thing is they can fire someone for being black, gay, unvaccinated and so if they want. They just can't say that's the reason why.

You can fire an unvaccinated, obese, black tranny for those reasons. You just say the position is being eliminated or being changed or any other number of bologna reasons.
