What do our embassy personnel do over there?

But the benefits of a renewed diplomatic presence are clear, U.S. officials say: U.S. personnel will be able to interact in person with the Kyiv government, monitor the distribution of billions of dollars in U.S. weaponry, keep an eye on Russian troop movements and offer technical assistance. The addition of more intelligence assets, say U.S. officials, is key."
So, boots on the ground, weapons logistics, and intelligence. That sounds like war with Russia. You don't think Putin would respond to that? We are actively escalating the situation.
