The Wuhan coronavirus or the 2019-nCoV or novel coronavirus is a new human-infecting coronavirus genetically different from human SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome), and MERS-CoV (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome), a team of scientists has found.


In a new study published in The Lancet, researchers have revealed that the virus likely emerged very recently and was detected rapidly, using the same molecular doorway as SARS to enter humans. However, the researchers noted that the new coronavirus strain was genetically different from human SARS, which killed more than 348 people in China in 2003, and the MERS-CoV that emerged in the Middle East in 2012.

I actually have a tiny bit of knowledge about viruses ... their chemical make-up ... and how they mutate into new and different strains very rapidly ... you read some hack on the internet and treat that as a replacement for a few classes at university ...

This is why we have to get a flu shot every Fall ... because every year we're faced with a new and novel flu virus strain ... something no one has immunity against, yet ... this is the nature of viruses ...

We don't do this for Coronaviruses or Rhinoviruses because they are generally very mild and rarely cause death in-of-themselves ... one big exception is the beta sub-group of Coronaviruses, which SARS and MERS are members, along with Covid-19 ...

Read a book on virology before you cast out your "gullibility" charges ... right now you can't back up your claim ... and it shows ...
