Lebanon a Christian majority country historically, was turned into an Islamic hell-hole in a matter of decades. After Muslim invaders from neighboring countries conducted a genocidal ethnic cleansing campaign against the indigenous Christians of Lebanon.

Arafat's Massacre of Damour

PLO massacres in Lebanon
Organized by Professor M. Kahl

Do you not remember Damour Lebanon. Let me remind you. Arafat and the PLO plunged Lebanon into "massacres, rape, mutilation, rampages of looting and killings. Out of a population of 3.2 million, some 40,000 or more people had been killed, 100,000 wounded, 5,000 permanently maimed

In January of 1976, the destruction of Damour, a town of some 25,000 was completed by the PLO within two weeks. "The priest of Damour, Father Mansour Labaky desperately trying to save people of the town telephoned Kamal Jumblat [one of the Lebanese leaders], in whose parliamentary constituency Damour lay. 'Father, Jumblat said, 'I can do nothing for you, because it depends on Yasser Arafat' " . All efforts were useless. In the morning following the first night of invasion, when more than fifty people were massacred, Father Labaky "despite the shelling managed to get to the one house, to bring out some corpses. An entire family had been killed, the Canan family, four children all dead, and the mother, the father, and the grandfather. The mother was still hugging one of the children. And she was pregnant

The eyes of the children were gone and their limbs were cut off. No legs and no arms" (123). In total, 582 people were massacred in the storming of Damour. Father Labaky went with the Red Cross to bury them. "Many of the bodies had been dismembered, so they had to count the heads to number the dead. Three of the men they found had had their genitals cut off and stuffed in their mouths"

Azmi Zrayir, the PLO Member, an organizer of the terrorist attack in March, 1975 on the Savoy Hotel in Tel Aviv in which seven people were killed and eleven wounded, was remembered in Lebanon as "a thief, a murderer, a rapist and a torturer." Being a PLO headquarters commander in Tyre, "he formed a football team into which he conscripted teenage children. The players were forced to gratify Zrayir's sexual appetites. He debauched both girls and boys. At least one child who defied him was shot dead" (144).

Arafat was ruthless not only with the Lebanese citizens but with the Palestinian Arabs too. In January, 1976 during the Christians' attack on Tall al Za'tar refugee camp the PLO tried to prevent the people in the camp from leaving. "Conditions within the camp became critical, with acute shortages of food and water, as bombardment continued day after day. The ideal of self sacrifice, imposed on the civilians by a leadership which itself took no risks, was never known to be the choice of the unhappy people themselves. And not all of the fighters who fell with their guns in their hands were cut down by the fire of the Christians. Some who tried to surrender or escape from the camp were shot in the back by their own comrades" (133). The high command in the PLO headquarters in West Beirut "not only refused to let the Palestinians leave the camp, or let the fighters surrender in order to save them all from hell, but insisted that the entire population, including the children, were to be sacrificed"

Perpetrators

The attack and subsequent massacre was carried out by a mixed crew of Palestinian militiamen aligned with the Lebanese National Movement (LNM).[citation needed]
According to journalist and author Robert Fisk, the attack was led by Colonel Abu Musa, a senior commander of the PLO and Fatah, and later leader of the anti-Arafat Fatah Uprising faction. Cedarland.org names Zuheir Mohsen, leader of as-Sa'iqa, a Damascus-based Palestinian faction operating directly on Syrian orders, and claims that he was known in Lebanon as the "Butcher from Damour".
The bulk of the attacking forces seems to have been composed of brigades from the Palestinian Liberation Army[19] and as-Sa'iqa, as well as other militias, including Fatah. Some sources also mention the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), and the Muslim Lebanese al-Murabitun militia among the attackers. There are reports that PLO forces were additionally joined by militiamen from Syria, Jordan, Libya,[20] Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan, and possibly even Japanese Red Army terrorists who were then undergoing training by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in Lebanon.

Iraqi Christians’ Slow Decline

I'm curious. Why do Republicans suddenly care about Middle Eastern Christians when they didn't during the Iraq war? Remember, as Christians were being firebombed, crucified, raped and chased from their homes while Bush had an army right there and apparently didn't want to show "favoritism" by protecting Christians. Where was the right wing "outrage"? And then Republicans helped them write a constitution stating that all legislation is based on Islam. What's up with that? Iraq never asked for American help so you can't say we "made them free". We invaded. They didn't invite. There is no "America Appreciation Day". Only "Die Great Satan". And that is terribly embarrassing.

It is so funny how the Palestinians call Israel an "apartheid state" when in all of the entire Middle East only Israel has residents of virtually all living faiths. Oh well, Palestinian mentality is what it is.

It's not like the Lebanese christians were just innocent bystanders waiting to be killed.

They allied with Israel and took up weapons against the Lebanese muslims in the civil war.

So I have no sympathy for them. .

The Phalangist militia based in Damour and Dayr al Nama had been blocking the coastal road.[4] The Damour massacre was a response to the Karantina massacre of January 18, 1976, in which Phalangists killed from 300 up to 1,500 people.[5][6]

It occurred as part of a series of events during the Lebanese Civil War, in which Palestinians joined the Muslim forces,[7] in the context of the Christian-Muslim divide,[8] and soon Beirut was divided along the Green Line, with Christian enclaves to the east and Muslims to the west.[9]
Events[edit]

Twenty Phalangist militiamen were executed, and then civilians were lined up against a wall and sprayed with machine-gun fire. None of the remaining inhabitants survived.[10] An estimated 582 civilians died

Sabra and Shatila refugee camps

The Israel Defense Forces surrounded the camps and stationed troops at the exits of the camps to prevent camp residents from leaving and at the Phalangists' request,[6] fired illuminating flares at night.[7][8]

In 1983, a UN commission chaired by Sean MacBride concluded that Israel bore responsibility for the violence.[12] In 1983, the Israeli Kahan Commission, appointed to investigate the incident, found that Israeli military personnel, aware that a massacre was in progress, had failed to take serious steps to stop it. Thus Israel was indirectly responsible, while Ariel Sharon, then Defense Minister, bore personal responsibility, forcing him to resign.[13]

Damour massacre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Damour massacre took place on January 20, 1976, during the 1975–1990 Lebanese Civil War. Damour, a Christian town on the main highway south of Beirut, was attacked by the Palestine Liberation Organisation units. Part of its population died in battle or in the massacre that followed, and the remainder were forced to flee.

The Palestinians joined the Muslim forces,[7] in the context of the Christian-Muslim divide,[8] and soon Beirut was divided along the Green Line, with Christian enclaves to the east and Muslims to the west.[9]

According to Thomas L. Friedman, the Phalangist Damouri Brigade, which carried out the Sabra and Shatila massacre during the 1982 Lebanon War sought revenge not only for the assassination of Bashir Gemayel, but also for what he describes as past tribal killings of their own people by Palestinians, including those at Damour.[13][14]
According to an eyewitness, the attack took place from the mountain behind the town. "It was an apocalypse," said Father Mansour Labaky, a Christian Maronite priest who survived the massacre. "They were coming, thousands and thousands, shouting 'Allahu Akbar! (God is great!) Let us attack them for the Arabs, let us offer a holocaust to Mohammad!', and they were slaughtering everyone in their path, men, women and children."

No, Muslims have a right to slaughter all non Muslims where ever they find them. Allah told them so, and Mohammad sanctioned it. They're just being good Muslims, right?

From the Koran:
Allah is an enemy to unbelievers. - Sura 2:98

On unbelievers is the curse of Allah. - Sura 2:161

When the sacred months are over, slay the idolaters wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them. - 9:5

Slay them wherever ye find them and drive them out of the places whence you find them. - 2:191

O believers, take not Jews and Christians as friends; they are friends of each other. Those of you who make them his friends is one of them. God does not guide an unjust people. - 5:54

O Prophet! Make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites. Be harsh with them. Their ultimate abode is hell, a hapless journey's end. - 9:73

Unbelievers are enemies of Allah and they will roast in hell. - 41:14

Muslims are harsh against the unbelievers, merciful to one another. - 48:25

Prophet! Make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal sternly with them. Hell shall be their home, evil their fate. - 66:9

The unbelievers among the People of the Book and the pagans shall burn forever in the fire of hell. They are the vilest of all creatures. - 98:51

What's funnier is we keep hearing about this Palestinian love and tolerance for Christians of the region. When their history indicates the EXACT OPPOSITE. Ha ha ha.

Following the assassination of Lebanese Christian President Bachir Gemayel, the Phalangists sought revenge. By noon on 15 September, the Sabra-Shatila camps had been surrounded by the IDF, which set up checkpoints at the exits and entrances, and used a number of multi-story buildings as observation posts. Amongst them was the seven-story Kuwaiti embassy which, according to TIME magazine, had "an unobstructed and panoramic view" of the camps. Hours later, IDF tanks began shelling the camps.[25]

According to Linda Malone of the Jerusalem Fund, Ariel Sharon and Chief of Staff Rafael Eitan[27] met with Phalangist militia units and invited them to enter the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps, claiming that the PLO was responsible for Gemayel's assassination.[28] The meeting concluded at 3:00 pm 16 September.[25]

An hour later, 1,500 militiamen assembled at Beirut International Airport, then occupied by Israel. Under the command of Elie Hobeika, they began moving towards the camps in IDF supplied Jeeps, following Israeli guidance on how to enter the camps. The forces were mostly Phalangist, though there were some men from Saad Haddad's "Free Lebanon forces".[25] According to Ariel Sharon and Elie Hobeika's bodyguard, the Phalangists were given "harsh and clear" warnings about harming civilians.[26][29] However, it was by then known that the Phalangists presented a special security risk for Palestinians. Bamahane, the IDF newspaper, wrote on 1 September, two weeks before the massacre, that, in a conversation with an Israeli official, a Phalangist said: "the question we are putting to ourselves is — how to begin, by raping or killing?"[30]

The first unit of 150 Phalangists entered the camps at 6:00 pm. A battle ensued that at times Palestinians claim involved lining up Palestinians for execution.[25] During the night the Israeli forces fired illuminating flares over the camps. According to a Dutch nurse, the camp was as bright as "a sports stadium during a football game"

Again, the Palestinians joined up with the Muslim forces to kill and slaughter the indigenous Christians of Lebanon. What business did they have doing that? You're just citing Christian retaliation for Muslim and specifically Muslim Palestinian aggression towards the Christians of Lebanon.

Now, go ahead and tell us about that Palestinian love for Christians. Ha ha ha.

Palestinian Christians are Christians of Palestinian descent, that are descended from the peoples of geographic Palestine, today including modern Israel and the Palestinian Territories.[citation needed] The term also applies to Christian citizens of the State of Palestine. In this area, there are churches and believers from many Christian denominations, including Oriental Orthodoxy, Anglican, Eastern Orthodoxy, Catholic (Eastern and Western rites), Protestant, and others. In both the local dialect of Palestinian Arabic and in classical or modern standard Arabic, Christians are called Nasrani (a derivative of the Arabic word for Nazareth, al-Nasira) or Masihi (a derivative of Arabic word Masih, meaning "Messiah").[1] In Hebrew, they are called Notzri (also spelt Notsri), which means "Nazarene".

Today, Christians comprise less than 4% of Palestinians living within the borders of former Mandate Palestine. They are approximately 8% of the West Bank population, less than 1% in Gaza, and nearly 10% of Israel's Arab population.[2] According to official British Mandate estimates, Mandate Palestine’s Christian population in 1922 comprised 9.5% of the total population and 7.9% in 1946.[3] The Palestinian Christian Population greatly decreased from 1948 to 1967. Most fled or were expelled during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War. A small number left during Jordanian occupation of the West Bank due to economic reasons. Since 1967, the Palestinian Christian population has increased despite continued emigration.[4]

There are nearly one million Palestinian Christians in the world, inclusive of the Palestinian diaspora, making up over 10% of the world's total Palestinian population.

This whole thread is a lie, implying Palestinians killed 40000 Christians in Lebanon.

What happened is there was a Civil War and different factions in Lebanon alligned together against other factions.

And lives were lost b y many Lebanese.

Rafik Harriri. Popular Christian Lebanese president assassinated by Hezbollah Muslim terrorist animals with the help of Iran and Syria.

Lets focus on the Muslim / Palestinian aggression towards the Christians in Lebanon and why the Palestinians joined in the genocide and slaughter of Lebanese Christians, in order to turnLebanon from a Christian majority country into a Muslim majority.

Why are the Palestinians always in the wrong side of history? In the Cold War they sided with the Soviets, in Iraq's invasion of Kuwait they sided with Sadam and betrayed their Kuwaiti hosts (only to be expelled when the Kuwaitis regained power), in Syria today they have fought on the side of the Syrian army to help Assad kill his own people, they sided with the Islamic terrorists in the War On Terror (what do you expect, after all, their own leaders are Islamic terrorists), they are proxies of the Islamic republic of Iran and receive funding and financing from Iran and even helped the Iranian govt kill and torture its own protesters, and we saw what they did in Lebanon. The list is endless.

And Palestinains joined in the fight siding the Muslims, something they had no business to do in the first place, and spearheaded the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Indigenous Lebanese Christians, and had a reputation for being the worst killers of Christians there.

So the thread is not a lie. It's the inconvenient truth.
