I can tell you from the inside (NO, I did not sign the petition. First, I don't even agree with nor endorse CRT. And even if I did, I know better than to sign a petition like this. But I digress...) that this list is being passed around conservative circles not only on bigger sources but within district, between parents.

I don't know yet what will become of it, but I am pretty sure uber-liberal teachers thought signing this was just one more way to Virtue Signal and are now finding out....not so very much.

I don't know a single conservative who doesn't want factual history taught, such as the history of slavery, Jim Crow, reconstruction, etc. Meanwhile most liberals I come across THINK conservatives don't want history taught.

The first amendment does not guarrantee the right to teach anything you want. Public school teachers must teach what they are told.

'What they are told', what does that mean on practice? That the government should issue a guidance for teachers what they are and aren't allowed to say in the classroom?

I don't know what the curriculum looked like when you was in school. But what I remember is that the history course was divided on certain 'blocs'. For example, 'Europe in the Ancient times', 'Amercian Civil War', 'WWII in Europe' etc. Every bloc was divided on certain themes.

And a teacher must follow this course. But it is basically censorship to punish them for mentioning the things which can be deemed as CRT while teaching about say American civil rights movement.

Howard Zinn is one of those hugely influential people that most Americans have never heard of. His "history" of the United States is one of the most evil, subversive texts ever introduced into our culture. It is entirely consistent with CRT, and you would be hard pressed to find an American public school history teacher who does not consider Zinn's history to be as essential to Education as the KJV is to any Baptist.

There is currently no provision in public employment law that allows a unionized public school teacher to be fired for being an anti-American MoFo. We are accordingly fucked.
