OCA is right.... sort of. I've changed, but there's nothing wrong with that. I used to be the most pro globalization (international fascism) mofo on this board.

Outsourcing bothers me just as much as becoming dependant on slave labor. But we have to address the situation as a whole, not just hate wal-mart and pass anti-outsourcing laws; we must seek more COMPREHENSIVE solutions than these short-sighted measures. (Don't worry, it's not the immigration issue,"comprehensive" isn't a metaphor for "everything you don't want".)

I believe we should study WHY company's outsource instead of just blindly passing laws against outsourcing. Cheap slave labor overseas is one cause of outsourcing.

When government conducts policy strictly favoring business and caring little about people, it fascism, regardless of your little loophole.

A mere pittance for pay, plus atrocious conditions, prohibitions of talking, and no other options, especially for PRISON laborers, is effectively slaverly. Again, the loophole you convince yourself with is ineffective in the minds of most others.

By this formula, the entire world will be reduced to slaves. In north america, they will try to convince us of this path by saying, "let the mexicans in, and lift worker protections, we'll enslave them. You white people just be sure to buy stock in the corporations doing the enslaving". As sure as I'm sitting here, this is the plan, and it's evil to the core.

This actually isn't true. THere is a high incidence of acceptance in the hispanabanana community of going directly in to single mother hood, and directly onto welfar. I can find numbers if I must.

I don't feel like it now. I know they're there. I'm more intrigued with whether or not you believe society should have any worker condition/wage standards at all.

Today it needs very little because of our evolution as a society. Today an employer does not higher a 14 yr old for hard labor just because he remembers there is some law that says he can't he doesn't higher him/her because it is morally wrong. Government intervention in private enterprise is needed only at the bare minimum.

Go peddle your socialism elsewhere.
