actually, he does think. communism and fascism are two separate constructs in terms of socio-political analysis. communism, particularly marxist communism, is a system whereby the collective owns the means of production and shares the means of production and labor. true communism envisions the deterioration and melting away of the state and all governmental entities. of course, (and this is my own observation) marx neglected a primary aspect of human behavior --- which is that no one gives up power voluntarily -- for the collective good or any other reason.

alternatively, fascism is a merging of state and corporate interests. the state is all-encompassing. it is intensely nationalistic and, contra to communism, intends for their to be an all powerful, totalitarian governmental entity in place. do not confuse what the USSR was with what communism is. and no, the USSR was not fascist, it was, however totalitarian.

and when thinking these two doctrines might somehow be the same, remember how much the USSR hated fascists and how much the fascists of nazi germany hated the socialists of the USSR.

Fascist (Big F) refers only to Benito Mussolini. Mussolini organized Italian WW I Vets into anti-Communist and rabidly nationalistic "Black Shirts". A paramilitary group that used gang tactics to suppress strikes and attack trade unions. Mussolini, riding a wave of anti-Communist fervor was accepted by the 'people' who wanted order.
Mussolini blamed Italy's problems on foreigners and crushed the opposition with a ruthless police state.

fascism, (small f) refers to other nation-states using similar tactics. Hitler's followers, the "Brown Shirts" used a platform which blamed the Depression on Jews, Marxists and foreign powers and attracted masses of the unemployed. Using nationalistic theatrics, bankrolled by the German Military-Industrial Complex and supported by an increasingly powerful army and secret police he used his skill at making speeches to captivate the German people with pomp and jingoism.

Stalinism or Stalinization refers to the influence of Josef Stalin over the Russian people and economy. Stalinism capitalized on the scope and power of a special secret police and several intelligence agencies. He believed in and imposed state-sanctioned violence to integrate public activities. I didn't state it was new now did I? Some things;like defense; are Constitutionally mandated by our Constitution however I think that the military industrial complex is just as embraced with government and politicians of both parties as pharmaceuticals ,insurance, food and so much more is and the only way to rid that is much less government intervention ;here and overseas..
