I live in the Derby city and it's been annouced that the city has to cut many of our bus routes. These services are essential to people who live in areas that are many miles from where they work, which is in the downtown area. One lady said when her bus service is discontinued she will have to walk 2 miles to her job. Another bus rider said with the loss of his bus service it will take an extra 40 minutes to get to work and another person who already rides two buses will have to ride three. It is truly terrible and especially since our CITY GOVERNMENT is building a USELESS sports arena. If people don't have jobs how are they going to be able to pay to watch basketball games? It was announced today that one of our biggest hospitals JEWISH is letting over 500 people go, and the insurance company HUMANA is letting 700 go. Something has to be done and done quick. I don't care who does something, just DO IT!! It just burns my butt that the Dems and Reps are so busy disagreeing they are causing more problems thanh solving them. We need a new batch of leaders, the old ones need to take a hike.

I find it hard to care too much that the cities are going to have to schlep it. Urban elitists have been telling us how to live for years and fucking us up the collective ass; finally they are going to be affected by the CRAP policies they've leveled against those who live in rural communities.

Suck it up, now you get to walk some miles in our shoes.

What the hell are you talking about? What "urban elite decision" has affected you even a little bit? What have they leveled against your "rural" (I suspect that means suburban sprawl) community?

Casper it is part of Mrs. Obama's plan to get you in shape. Start walking!

I don't know about where you live, but in NJ the urban areas suck up the bulk of state funding for schools, transportation, parks, sports facilities and whatever else they desire.

Typical idiot lie we are so accustomed to. "they have been telling us how to live", I mean right there this person has no credibility, when its the rural folk trying to push their morals on others

The destruction of fishing/logging/lumber industries.
Land use laws which prevent development.

And I live in a VERY rural area, thank you very much, elitist craphead.

what a surprise, we can tell by your ignorance and stupid arguments that you come from very rural area.

Since you call others "elitist crapheads' would it be ok to call you an inbred backwoods, uncultured redneck?

What morals? Be specific how they are doing it.

The difference being:

You'd be lying to say so.

But go ahead.

I notice you aren't making great strides in rep accumulation, btw.

We aren't pushing morals on anyone. We don't have the voting power to do so. Rather it's the city folk pushing their agenda on us....

But we're talking about Gregg here...so we shouldn't expect it to make sense.

Try to ban abortion, ban the morning after pill, try to push "abstinence only education", try to ban gay marriage, etc. They tend to squash and try to ban porn, strip clubs, bitch and moan to get violence and sexuality off the airs. You really need to be told these obvious forcing of morality?

And dont' come back claiming liberals want to force people, that's a lie, people can continue to think those people are immoral, they just have no right to force them how to live.

The funds for the sports arena were probably already earmarked and partially paid, not to mention the contractual obligation the city has with the contractors. Break the contract and the lawsuits could completely bankrupt the city then you would have any services, period. You want to fix the problem? Vote to allow the city to collect an additional one time tax from all it's citizens of 80% of their annual income. Barring that if you don't have the large amounts of money that was once coming in then you have to make sacrifices.
