Opinion: Liberals Should Welcome DeSantis rise: If Trump is a unique threat to democracy, they should be happy to see a GOP alternative to replace him

and would outlaw or silence anything or anyone what wasn't white, heterosexual, didn't carry a gun, or didn't believe in God. And he'd have the popular support to do it.
Thats just not true

Non whites are capable of decency guided by the example of Jesus

Even some heathens

So judge people by what they are rather than just giving them credit for dark skin

If Trump dies, develops severe health problems or just decides not to run, DeSantis would be a shoe-in for the nomination. Here's how that would go:

The media would lionize whoever the Dems put up against him, like they do every Demcocrat who runs against a Republican. If they can talk about how fit Fetterman is for office with a straight face, then doing the same for Newsome or the Booty Judge will be no problem for them.

As soon as DeSantis wins, they will try to get him to be the same go-along-to-get-along kind of Republican "leader" that has been enabling them since Reagan. If he doesn't do their bidding, they will go into full attack mode.

Here's a easy prediction: The attacks will come in the form of accusations from women. If they don't bring bimbos out of the woodwork to beat him in the election, they surely will if he wins. Unlike Trump, DeSantis is vulnerable so such accusations.

As far as I know, all of the women who have accused Trump have been gold diggers, famewhores, or both. No one expected any different from Trump, but they voted for him anyway, so those accusations were meaningless. DeSantis is a family man and the accusations will be incredibly unfair. But Dems never much cared about that.

“Non-whites are capable of decency”. That’s more than can be said of YOU. What a racist piece of shit YOU are.

Too bad white people aren’t capable of it. YOU being a prime example.

Alternately, we could have three terms: Trump and then back-to-back DeSantis terms and that would put the liberals really on edge

excerpts:

By any reasonable standard, DeSantis’ supposed sins are peccadilloes compared to those of Trump.

There is no doubt that DeSantis reflects a new more Trumpian Republican Party, in his combativeness with the press, in his emphasis on cultural issues, in his willingness to use government power in the culture war, and in his ability to appeal to Trump voters.

Still, there is nothing aberrant about DeSantis. His state-of-the-state address this year, with freedom as its central theme, could have been delivered by a conservative Republican governor any time over the last 30 years

DeSantis may be Trumpy in notable respects, but, importantly, he doesn’t exhibit any of Trump’s character flaws.

He is tough on reporters, but he hasn’t engaged in any taunting or gratuitous insults.

He is a sharp political player, which isn’t unusual of powerful governors, but isn’t fundamentally driven by personal vendettas.

He hasn’t governed via tweet, with seat-of-the-pants edicts quickly reversed or forgotten when he’s talked out of them.

He is a voracious consumer of information and isn’t prone to ill-informed riffs

In all the ways that should matter, in short, DeSantis is better than Trump, and compared to the former president, he is reassuringly normal. In a better world, this would win him some grudging praise from unexpected quarters. Instead, because he’s a conservative Republican with some chance to be his party’s presidential nominee, he is ipso facto considered a threat to the republic
Dems will learn to hate DeSantis every bit as much as trump

By any stretch, DeSantis is WORSE than Trump because DeSantis KNOWS how government works and how to pull the levers. Trump isn't the problem, TRUMPISM, is the problem and DeSantis is Trumpier and just as stupid as Trump himself.

This is the guy who passed a law allowing motorists to run down protestors. The Don't Say Gay law, and whose state had one of the highest rates of disease and death from covid.

Dems don't hate Republicans. They find them to be stupid and incompetent, but they don't hate them. Hate is a useless and destructive emotion which destroys the hater, not the hated.

That's why Republicans are being destroyed. They're so full of hate that the lies and hatred are destroying the party.

ROFLMAO.

No, they don't hate them at all. That is why the leader of the entire democrat party called them terrorists. That is not hate whatsoever....

Somehow you manage to make yourself look like more of an idiot every time you post. It is amazing.
