Pfizer had said that they would send the US 100 million doses for the vaccine, and offered to increase the number of doses to 200 million, but the Trump administration declined the offer, saying that they didn't want to commit to a vaccine back in July and August, because it didn't have FDA approval yet.

Well, the vaccine has been shown to be 95 percent effective, and apparently fairly safe. Unfortunately, if the US wants more doses of the vaccine, they have to get in line behind all the other countries that have ordered it if they want more than 100 million doses, meaning a new round of vaccine won't be available until June or July.

They have 600M vaccines ordered from 6 different manufacturers. Moderna has now filed for fda approval. Johnson & Johnson is almost ready..
He turned them down during the summer because he had contracts with FIVE OTHER COMPANIES.

For a normal presidency, this may be a problem.

The distribution will be terrible...and will be only slightly better under Biden. And it's not really a matter of what the President can or cannot do.

Our 50 systems of doing everything is a recipe for disaster and stupid. Its not usually a matter of life and death. For some in the high risk category...this is a matter of life and death. People like me--middle management hospital administrator in a major city--I will get the shots months before the head of nursing who is exposed to covid positive patients at a county hospital in rural Nebraska every hour of every day.
