For any of you idiots who think that Trump and his administration have handled the virus situation in a suitable manner, think again. Pfizer had said that they would send the US 100 million doses for the vaccine, and offered to increase the number of doses to 200 million, but the Trump administration declined the offer, saying that they didn't want to commit to a vaccine back in July and August, because it didn't have FDA approval yet.

Well, the vaccine has been shown to be 95 percent effective, and apparently fairly safe. Unfortunately, if the US wants more doses of the vaccine, they have to get in line behind all the other countries that have ordered it if they want more than 100 million doses, meaning a new round of vaccine won't be available until June or July.

Still think Trump is "winning"?

As Pfizer wrangles with supply chain issues for 2020 distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine, some more potential bad news for American patients: The Washington Post and New York Times report the company has told the Trump administration that, after the initial 100 million doses it agreed to deliver by March, it may not be able to get more here before June or July, because others are in line before us.

Sources tell the Post that Pfizer encouraged the US over the summer to commit to up to 200 million initial doses, but the US declined. "Anyone who wanted to sell us ... without an [FDA] approval, hundreds of millions of doses back in July and August, was just not going to get the government's money," a senior administration official says.

OMG not again

Doesn't change the fact that the US is only going to get 100 million doses, and more won't be available until June or July. That means we might be able to vaccinate front line workers, and possibly most of the high risk people, but after that? You're on your own until June or July.

Didn't Trump say that there was going to be wide vaccine availability before the end of the year? Looks like he lied again, and has shown that he's pretty crappy at running the country.

Great link there war hero.

Only one of several vaccines you liberals will picket to deny your children. Plenty more coming.

My concern is not about the current virus - more about the one that China will unleash a few months from now. Unless, of course, Xiden just hands America over to Xia to bribe (he's good at that) the new toy being kept in the fridge.

Another TDS thread

No, not another TDS thread, this is fact. Pfizer said they would make 100 million doses available, and was willing to make more available for the US, but the Trump admin refused, saying that when the offer was made, it was too early because the FDA hadn't given approval yet. So much for the "warp speed" program, because we won't see more vaccines after the initial shipment until June or July. Just another example of the incompetence of this administration.

Even FOX is reporting on this story and saying that it could be problematic. (Yes, I watch a bit of all 3 cable news stations each day, and currently, this is the story playing on FOX.)

Really? China is going to release a new virus in a few months? Got a link for that, or is this just more of your paranoid delusions?

They have 600M vaccines ordered from 6 different manufacturers. Moderna has now filed for fda approval. Johnson & Johnson is almost ready..
He turned them down during the summer because he had contracts with FIVE OTHER COMPANIES.
This has been explained countless times, just today. You are just another idiot running with the media spin.

Personally? I hope that Moderna gets the contract for US vaccines. Why? Because unlike the Pfizer vaccine, Moderna's doesn't require ultra cold temps for storage.

Your Chronic Clinical Dual Diagnosis - TDS / Trump OCD gets worse by the day.

State Run Media Outlets are broadcasting such and she believes all such propaganda.

Moderna
State Run Media Outlets are broadcasting such and she believes all such propaganda.

There are only 2 companies that are currently ready to start shipping out vaccines, and that is Moderna and Pfizer. J&J says that they won't be ready with theirs for a while yet, as they have just now started Phase III testing, meaning it's probably still a few months out.

And, if you have something that says other companies are ready to start giving out vaccines, post a link.

They said last week they would be ready in a few weeks.

Got a link? I can't find where they have said that.

For a normal presidency, this may be a problem.

The distribution will be terrible...and will be only slightly better under Biden. And it's not really a matter of what the President can or cannot do.

Our 50 systems of doing everything is a recipe for disaster and stupid. Its not usually a matter of life and death. For some in the high risk category...this is a matter of life and death. People like me--middle management hospital administrator in a major city--I will get the shots months before the head of nursing who is exposed to covid positive patients at a county hospital in rural Nebraska every hour of every day.

It's a fucking disgrace.
