The bottom line is, I do not for a moment think he wasn't briefed extensively about the withdrawal, since it was such a highly visible political event. After all, democrats are all about image. If he wasn't paying attention, that's on him. If he ignored the plan, that's on him. He owned the plan, it became his when he took office, and apparently he thought it was a good plan, because he carried through on it. If there were military experts telling him Afghanistan was going to fall and he did nothing to change the plan, that's on him.
