"One Party Rule"

I prefer "No Party Rule". Outlaw all political parties. Have a primary to narrow the field down to the top 2 or 3 candidates. And be done with this constant bickering and battling between parties. It does nothing good for the nation or the people. The focus should be on other things besides destroying the opposing parties.
“Outlaw all political parties.

Actually, that would be un-Constitutional – a violation of the right to freedom of association.

Ok, then don't have separate primaries. Allow only political contributions to individual candidates.
When it's comes to addressing the dysfunction of the "two party system", ranked choice voting is the most promising reform on the horizon.
Anything that facilitates cheating will be acceptable.

How Communist of you! You need to get right on that Constitutional amendment to rid yourself of all those troublesome rights we have.

No need to change the constitution. Change the election rules to make it one primary for all candidates and change the campaign finance laws to prevent contributions to anyone other than the candidate's campaign. No more multiple primaries. And no more soft money going to parties rather than candidates.

Lets look at a few things the Democrats have talked about wanting to do. Elminate the electoral college, do away with the filibuster make DC state. With Califorina being a rock solid blue state getting the rid of the EC makes the odds of the Democrats keeping the Presidency for extended election cycles much easier which in turn would allow them to appoint and nominate judges more likely to rule in their favor. Making DC whic is also rock soild blue would give the Democrats two more Senate memebers and increase their odds of keeping control of the Senate for extended periods. Last doing away with the filibuster doing this would give the minority party no power to oppose anything the majority could pass anything they wanted. You put these things in place and the Democrats could do pretty much anything they wanted unopposed. When people talk about being concerned over one party rule it's something like this they mean not one party having the Presidency and both chambers of Congress for one election cycle. No one should want either party to have this kind of power and control because it will not lead to anything good over time the most likely outcome will be a real insurrection and probably a civil war.

"One Party Rule"

Such is rightwing hypocrisy – conservatives weren’t complaining about this between 2017 and 2019.

And the notion that we currently have ‘one party rule’ is as ridiculous as it is wrong.

Conservatives control the Federal judiciary – the Supreme Court in particular; anything the Democratic Congress passes and Biden signs into law that Republicans oppose can be subject to a lawsuit and likely struck down by the High Court.
tonight.

You're Dreaming if you think Republican conservatives "control" the judiciary. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Hmm. Good question.
Evidently this has them pretty concerned.
Never concerned them when they held both houses of Congress and the presidency.
They tell me that they think we're headed towards complete one party rule, as in communism.

Of course. Sometimes I forget about their goofball commie paranoia.
Your once card-carrying Speaker of the House of Representatives who relishes being "the most important woman in American history" has given the sanest among us a quite a wakeup call in 4 years of orchestrating a veritable hog-tying fantasy world of all her adversaries until there is not a single one of her enemies in America who isn't wishing her resignation since she has taken it upon herself to impinge upon us all homage to her hateful plans. Distrust she has nurtured will be on her soon. We're praying a lot.

You forgot to add "my friends".

The communists have been successful in keeping the public off balance by drifting from crisis to crisis all based on varying degrees of hoaxes demanding ever increasing levels of hysteria. The global warming hoax, the covid hoax and now the white supremacist hoax. Interesting enough the white supremacist hoax could be eclipsed by the multiracial white supremacist hoax. Anything to keep people from seeing how badly their freedoms are being stripped away.

The left needs to be crushed. Utterly. Completely. Without feeling. The same way you would swat a fly.
All we would have to do is enforce Ike's Anti-communist law of 1954. The Republicans didn't do it because leftists created a little Epstein Island out of internet peep shows of A Melania Trump giving head to a giant penis, etc. It was pretty sickening as most doctored picture shows are. :cheeky-smiley-018:

I keep seeing this coming from the Right -- the notion that the Democrats are bad because they want "One Party Rule".

So, I'm curious: Does this mean the GOP does not want one-party rule, with them in charge of the White House, House and Senate?

If so, which one of those three would you be fine having the Democrats running?

Please explain why you're pointing at this as a bad thing.
Dunno, one party rule seems to be working great for places like California.

Mwhahahaha!!
And Mississippi.

BUHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

I noticed that "One Party Rule" started getting used on this forum by multiple posters at the exact same time. This appears to indicate that they all got this from some conservative talk radio host.
Yep. That's how the alternative universe operates. I know Limbaugh uses it. There are several everyday words & phrases that they use from that source.

Democrats funded the border wall?

A wall is NOT a policy - it's an appeasement- it's rhetoric.
Policy affects everyone, not just the appeased- policy is money taken- income tax- lies- forever wars (foreign and domestic) Dept of Education that doesn't properly educate and isn't a constitutional authority = lies. More laws than can be counted- more restrictions than can be counted- more criminals than can be counted- more gov't = bigger gov't- bigger and more are the antithesis of less and smaller- the diametric opposite of intent- and BOTH SIDES subscribe to and fund it all- as long as they get their pork thrown in for appeasement-

Evidently you think you know everything and feel the need to troll the net to show everyone how superior you are.
Having said that, at least you don't hide the fact you are clearly well left of center anymore.
In your mind of course, you don't think so. You make a minimum 50 to 1 negative-right threads to negative left, but in your mind that rare anti-left token thread is what makes you centered.
Funny

Okay, neat.

Wanna know what I think of you?

I don't. Sorry.

Yup..and they conveniently ignore the fact that they have tried for and occasionally achieved one party GOP rule numerous times.

Yeah... cause when one party does it, that you like... it is okay, but when the other does it - of course it is nefarious and bad.
Too funny... circle jerk about how bad the other guy is, while you all are doing the exact same thing.
