Once Again, George Carlin Was Right About Conservatives

Gotta love people who can't refute a single thing that was said in the OP

There is a reason why the most beloved comics of all time -- ARE NOT CONSERVATIVE --- because conservatives think punching down at the powerless is funny...due to their depravity and all...

From a Conservative comedian:

"The House of Representatives passed two bills to address the nationwide baby formula shortage Wednesday night as families continue to face bare shelves across the nation. One measure would help enable recipients to buy formula by giving the Agriculture secretary the permanent flexibility to waive certain requirements the special supplemental nutrition program for poorer women, infants and children, known as WIC, that limit the brands and quantities of formula that WIC recipients may purchase. It passed with a large bipartisan majority of 414 to 9. All nine "no" votes were cast by Republicans.

A second measure to provide an extra $28 million to the Food and Drug Administration to help get fraudulent formula products off store shelves and boost the part of the workforce focused on formula, as well as FDA inspection staff, also passed, but with just 12 Republicans voting in favor. The baby formula shortage was exacerbated after a manufacturing plant from formula maker Abbott, the nation's largest, was shuttered in February after after four infants became sick with bacterial infections and two died."

Imagine the energy Republicans would have reacted with -- if 4 babies died as a DIRECT RESULT to the vaccine?? They would be demanding the drug maker who made the vaccine be shut down, all vaccines be taken off the market and also demanding the execution of Dr. Fauci, Biden, Pelosi, the guy who played Isaac on Love Boat, everybody.....but in this case, not much demonizing is being aimed at Abbot....this time, the blame is being put on the babies of detained illegals...because, to be quite honest, they are much more fun to hate on than corporate executives....but.....despite all of this hysteria over baby formula and this faux concern for "our babies" -- Conservatives are proving themselves to be full of shit once again....by being the only ones to vote against the very thing they claimed to be in favor of.....and before you say "only 9 voted no" -- those 9 happen to be the most "beloved" Conservatives with the MAGA crowd...by the way, over 190 Republicans voted against the second bill.....

And.....let us never forget this.....the party that screams "no regulations" placed restrictive regulations on our ability to import formula in a crisis just like this...

“[T]he provisions in the USMCA’s agriculture annex establish confusing and costly [tariff rate quotas] on Canadian exports of infant formula, and the United States imported no baby formula from Canada in 2021,” the Cato Institute noted last week, adding that companies will have little incentive to change that unless some of those restrictions and red tape is removed."

And let us not forget....it wasn't that long ago that the party who is now pretending to be concerned about "our babies" voted to cut the very funding that got said formula to "our babies" -- because blocking a mother's access to that formula is A-OK as long as that mother is poor.....which has been Conservative ideology for the past 100 years.....so yes, Carlin was right....again....

Did you miss the part where the FDA's own investigation showed the Abbott facility wasn't where these infections came from?
Nice try proggy.
Projecting your own disregard for babies is rich coming from the party in favor of infanticide up to & past birth.
  • “No Salmonella was found at the Sturgis facility,” the company continued. “The Cronobacter sakazakii that was found in environmental testing during the investigation was in non-product contact areas of the facility and has not been linked to any known infant illness.”
More details: Genetic sequencing helped in reaching this conclusion. Two available samples from ill infants did not match the strains of Cronobacter that were discovered in the Michigan facility, Abbott said. Additionally, samples from ill infants did not match each other, indicating that the two were not connected.

  • The FDA and/or CDC tested samples of the Abbott formula used by the infants in all four reported cases, and all of the unopened containers tested negative.
  • Open containers from the infants’ homes were also tested in three of the four cases, and two of the three tested negative. The one container that did test positive had two different strains of Cronobacter sakazakii — one matching the strain that caused the infant’s infection and the other matching a strain found on a bottle of distilled water used to mix the formula. Neither strain matched the one found at the Abbott facility.

Your own link has their reasoning :
Republicans said the plan did not force the FDA to come up with a plan to immediately address the shortage, nor did it force federal agencies to look for formula that could be immediately redirected to American households or use the power of the federal government to move formula around. They also said the FDA already had enough money to deal with the crisis.
"The answer to the formula shortage is the families need more formula, and we need to get one of the largest domestic producers of formula safely operating again," said Republican Rep. Andy Harris, who chairs the Appropriations subcommittee that funds the FDA. "But this is not a money problem, it's a leadership problem. It's another example of this administration disregard for hard working American families who are already struggling with record high gas prices, food prices and inflation soaring to a 40 year high."

Instead of you idiots finger pointing and saying the other side hates babies, why dont congress address what the few republicans brought up? I mean, what they said makes sense.
You people really need to grow the fuck up.
Nothing like a bunch of parisan bickering to renew my trust in government.
:laughing0301:

I notice you didn't address the part about the GOP demonizing the children of illegals as being the blame for the shortage -- even tho they make up for less than 1% of formula consumption

I notice you didn't address the fact that the GOP ALREADY has a long history of cutting the very programs that get those babies formula -- the babies they pretend to be caring about now

And the reasoning those Conservatives give for voting against it -- IS ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT
Well Biff let me ask should the mother that is illegally here get the formula before a mother that is Black?

See if breast Milk and Power Milk with Protein Powder is good enough for the Black mother that is a citizen then it should be good enough for the mother that is illegal child…

So American Citizens come first, and now commence with “ ya dic suckers don’t care about the Black mama and just using her to excuse your wacism damn yew honky Trump Humper “…

In the end I have no issue with feeding the child of someone that came here illegally but if there is a shortage of something and a substitute can be made then the child of the illegal get the substitute and the Citizen get the Formula first…

We get a lot of George Carlin. George had points to be made but he was a left winger. And he was from the age of drug expansion. What was he 23 in that video? He had a hard paper route. Comedians can make a point. They are not experts in politics even with truths. Unless they are planted shills like we see on TV every day.

Where are you if he can take your rifle and beat you senseless with it?

Speaking of Carlin: Premieres tonight

Nowwaddaminut! The Republicans wanted to reduce SNAP benefits by 20 percent when it was discovered that 20 percent of SNAP benefits were spent on junk food. Of course, what they don't realize is that even if SNAP is cut by 20 percent people will still spend 20 percent on junk food.

Of course, what
you don't realize is that they don't give a shit about desperate people receiving "20 percent" less "food." They want that 20 percent diverted to the MIC, fossil fuels, or tax cuts for the disgustingly wealthy.

Biff? That was the moron in Back To The Future.

No babies died or got sick because of anything that came out of, Abbott.

Democrats are sick individuals, a terror when working together
