Fox News: Did 17 illegal voters in Ohio steal the 2012 election?

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted announced Wednesday that his office found 17 non-citizens illegally cast ballots in the 2012 presidential election -- and has referred the case for possible prosecution... Husted also found that 274 non-citizens remain on the voting rolls. President Obama beat Mitt Romney in Ohio by just 2 percentage points in November 2012.

=================================================

So Obama won by 166,272 votes officially. Assuming the 17 votes were for the winner, minus 17, that's 166256. Obama wins, going away.

The Right Wing Myth & Legend of massive Democratic voter fraud? An epic loser.

Conservatives, you can shut up now about massive "voter fraud".

And so goes the liberal mantra that there is absolutely no voter fraud. This is like catching a mouse in your house, there are many more you don't see.

I doubt everything you've written here but just FYI:

Both the turnout and margin of victory were down from 2008, when Obama defeated Republican John McCain. But the 5,580,822 people who cast ballots in this year's presidential race were the third most in Ohio history, behind only 2008 and 2004.

The final tally shows Obama with 2,827,621 votes (50.7 percent) to Romney's 2,661,407 votes (47.7 percent). Another 91,794 people voted for other candidates.

The Democrat did especially well in the tabulations since the initial unofficial tally was released the day after the election. Obama won nearly two-thirds of the votes added since then, mostly from provisional or late-arriving absentee ballots.

Though Obama's margin of victory was smaller than in 2008, when he defeated McCain by 262,224 votes, he did win by more votes than Republican George Bush did in both 2004 (118,601) and 2000 (165,019).

The state is currently dominated by the GOP, and the investigation was done by Republicans. They had every motivation to find and expose all the supposed voter fraud out there. They had every reason to bring into question the overwhelming win by Obama in the state. They found 17. If the investigation were led by Democrats, then maybe you could question the results as not accurate, but only maybe.

Sorry, loser. Most Ohioans refused to reimpose the failed Bush policies by electing Capt 1%, Mittskypoo.

Bush's wins in 2000 & 2004 were dubious. The GOP in Ohio has done one good thing over the years they've held power in the state: They improved up the voting systems, and the counting. The tallies are more accurate, and there are far fewer lost votes through 'hanging chads" and all that stuff that took place earlier in the decade. Since they've made these changes, the Democrat President nominee won easily in the state, and would have done so in 2000 & 2004 had the state's voting infrastructure been the way it is now.

Any voter fraud is too much voter fraud.

No, it's not. It's only too much when it would change the results of an election from what the result would have been otherwise.

The right wing myth is that voter fraud is rampant and massive. Voter fraud is actually petty and trifling. It's just not a serious problem.

In Ohio, Romney's problem wasn't voter fraud, it was his plan for reinstating the failed Bush Presidency's policies.

Someone needs to start Impeachment thread #217 about this NOW!!!

Seriously though, the only reason the repubs say its an epidemic is because it will allow them an excuse to erect more barriers to poor and elderly American voters

Will you agree that not every election has that sort of turn out? School board elections, for one, draw sometimes only hundreds of votes. These are the people who actually govern what happens to you and, contrary to popular opinion, it isn't Harry Reid and John Boehner. Seventeen votes are discovered but there is no real way to know, now is there?

If we're not going to require that Jane Doe prove that she is Jane Doe when she casts her ballot, what is the point of registration?

What is the downside of having a picture voter registration card in place of the paper card most have now?

How much fraud is acceptable and why would you want to allow any fraud at all?

Yes, it is. It is illegal. Period. Any amount is too much, regardless of the shit you spew.

I do not believe that voter fraud is massive and rampant, I simply believe it should not be tolerated and every possible step should be taken to prevent it as long as voters are not disenfranchised.

There are many crimes that have no real effect on circumstances, crimes that are "just not a serious problem." Shall we ignore those as well?

Just out of curiosity, what do you think should happen if Obama had won by 16 votes? Both to the 2012 results and the 2016 election?

Any voter fraud sucks. Each fraudulent vote steals a vote away from someone who cast theirs legitimately. No one should like this or dismiss it...Republican or Democrat.

If he had won Ohio by 16 votes, and 17 voters were found to be illegal, I would not assume that all 17 were for Obama for starters. Also, if Mitt had won Ohio, he still would have lost the election.

So, to answer your question: Obama wins. Get over it. Stop whining about voter fraud, and try winning the White House on policy instead. Mitt lost because America didn't want him in the White House returning to the failed Bush policies. When are you knucklewalkers gonna learn that?

Asswipe....you claimed there are 0 illegal votes.

Finding just 1 illegal voter means the system is corrupt and voter IDs are required.

If a criminal, illegal, etc steals a vote from a law abiding American, they should be executed.

Dubious? Really? If you believe that then your a hack that refused to research the post election counts by bipartisan sources. :eusa_whistle:

As someone who voted for Obama twice, you should want more out of your vote than to play "what if".

Actually I asked several questions; Here they are again if you care to answer them.

Please prove that I ever claimed that there were 0 illegal votes? Either prove it, or apologize for lying.

The amount of voter fraud out there is so tiny . It's a small problem that gets way too much attention from conservatives who can't accept that it's their failed policies that explain Mitt and McCain's justified Presidential beatdowns, not "voter fraud".
