Officer Who Pepper-Sprayed a Black Army Medic Is Fired

He was told "hands in the air" and that is what he was going to do. He knew he risked getting blasted if he did anything else.

Apparently you don't understand the word irony. He didn't do as the officer asked. When a cop is screaming at you, just obey his orders. The cop was screaming at him not to reach for his gun, and the typical defiant black guy didn't stop. He continued to move his hands making claim he was getting his license.

And the guy here did EXACTLY as he was told but still you blame him.

You would think that being in the military he would have learned to accept lawful orders
the military has had to lower its standards to meet overall recruitment goals, not to mention its diversity quotas

The 1st Lt deserved everything he got...how would he like it if his platoon disrespected his orders?...I mean why would they obey him when he can't follow orders from law enforcement?....respect is a two way street Lt...you have a lot to learn about being in command...maybe he should go back to the academy....

Platoon? Academy? The driver was a LT in the Virginia National Guard who was a medical admin officer. Make a few assumptions didn't we?
No wonder he responded the way he did....officer medics in the Marine Corp. must go through the academy just like any other commissioned officer...maybe the Army should stop pinning bars on disrespecting college grads without training them....is that what you are implying?....if so then I agree....

Take a wild guess on what would happen to this Lt if he were pulled over inside a combat green zone and acted the way he did.....he would be dead right now...not washing pepper spray from his eyes....come on smart guy think.....putting on the uniform of an officer and a gentleman should be followed by acting like an officer and a gentleman...

When I was instructed to do something that was against regs by higher ups, I just flat refused on several occasions, and then documented it.
What did they do to you when you refused to follow the order and it was a legal order?
I never did that.

I agreed to follow the rules when I signed up and I did.

I didn't try to get subordinates to do dirt for me and then deny that I ever gave those instructions when the investigators came around.

I got a news flash for you; a lot of those lifer vets that you thank for their service, are some of the most ethically challenged and morally corrupt shitbags you will ever meet.

Not all of them are like that, but a hell of a lot more than you think are.

the oathkeepers - who are made up of ex military & cops are some of the insurrectionists that stormed the capital.
What insurrection? You believe that bullshit narrative?
Just out of curiosity, the politicians that are stealing elections so they can keep looting this country, are they cutting you in on their action? Or are you helping them rob us all for free?

And the oathkeepers are about upholding the oath we all took to support and defend the US Constitution; you find fault with that mission, and you're the problem, not them.

Stop being stupid, we're full up on that around here.

Capitol riot: Prosecutors get first guilty plea 100 days after attack

Exactly 100 days since the 6 January riot that saw a pro-Trump mob storm the US Capitol, prosecutors have their first guilty plea.

Jon Schaffer, 53, a member of the Oath Keepers militia group, pleaded guilty to two charges - obstruction of an official proceeding and entering a restricted building with a dangerous weapon.

He is facing 30 years in prison and is expected to co-operate with investigators.

How many arrests so far?

Most of the rioters were allowed to leave the crime scene, forcing investigators to conduct a national manhunt for the pro-Trump crowd that stormed the halls of Congress.

Investigators for the District of Columbia says they have identified over 540 suspects and charged some 400 people in connection with the Capitol siege.

Officials say they are considering filing serious charges of seditious activity against some individuals who were involved in the siege on the Capitol.

According to federal criminal code, seditious conspiracy means an effort to conspire to overthrow the US government.

The punishment is severe: up to 20 years in prison.

Whatever, because we all know the feds never lie, right?

If a perpetrator refuses to obey multiple orders by law enforcement, force is their only option. In this case the use of pepper spray was the lesser of the force that could have been applied. Would you have preferred the deployment of the Taser?
The cops immediately came at him guns drawn and pointing in his face when the traffic stop itself was completely baseless.

Everything was wrong from the get go.

Hmm.... You fail to show the fact that a loaded pistol was found along side Lt. Nazario.

'Wait for the 6th when we are all in DC to insurrection' | New court docs allege Oath Keepers, Proud Boys planned Capitol riot

The FBI says an Oath Keeper bragged about forming an "alliance" between two militia groups and the Proud Boys prior to the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol.

WASHINGTON — Newly released court documents allege extremist groups worked together in the weeks leading up to the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol.

In court filings opposing alleged Oath Keeper Kelly Meggs' pre-trial release, prosecutors included Facebook messages in which Meggs discussed coordination with other extremist groups who were planning to be in Washington on January 6.

Prosecutors claim Meggs wrote on December 19: “This week I organized an alliance between Oath Keepers, Florida 3%ers and Proud Boys. We have decided to work together and shut this (expletive) down”

Prosecutors allege even more Facebook conversations in which Meggs discusses tactical planning between Oath Keepers and Proud Boys and his disdain for DC police officers.

Okay, then why aren't all the other instances of riot, unrest, and attacks on government buildings around the country for the past year being investigated and prosecuted like this one is, then?

If we can hold every single person within a square mile of the one guy (or even a few people) who said shit like this, responsible for everything that went on, why aren't there a few hundred/thousand members of BLM/Antifa sitting in county lock ups across the country awaiting trial?
