Well, you knew it was coming. Now experts are saying that America’s poor health is a contributing factor in Covid-19 deaths. Those dastardly killjoys! Don’t they know it probably says somewhere in our constitution that citizens have a right to stick a foreign object in their mouths and suck poison into their lungs? All those cool movies with Patrick Swayze dancing and punching his way to pancreatic cancer may have gone for naught.

Grandma and grandpa, slobbering and swallowing their faces in nursing homes, have fond memories of great celebrities like Humphrey Bogart, Yul Brenner, Rod Serling, Peter Jennings, joe DiMaggio, et al wasting away from the great American pastime of a good smoke. It’s an outrage! Why should we be stripped of the right to follow these great Americans into the warehoused, urine-soaked, deathcamps of nursing homes on a journey to an early end? This is a savage attack on our personal liberties! You haven’t lived until you’ve choked to death on your personal freedoms!

And what about New Hampshire’s big lead as the drunkest state in America? You can barely move in grocery stores on your way to empty toilet paper shelves because of all the booze piled up in the middle of the aisles. If Virginia is for lovers, New Hampshire is for livers. Next time you go shopping, you might want to bring a rope to scale the Budweiser climbing walls.

And now the great conundrum. With about 500,000 deaths annually from tobacco and another 90,000 from alcohol, no businesses have ever been shut down to find out what’s killing the population or what can be done to stop the carnage. When the killer Coronavirus struck the first act of our state leadership was to declare liquor stores essential businesses! This was a genius plan of action because unlike the virus, tobacco and alcohol and lobbies have been paying off local and national politicians for decades.

As the virus rages it is weak competition for the for the politically connected poisoning that is rampant in our country. And government is not done. Marijuana dispensaries are popping up all over the country, corroding the resolve of citizens as they fall prey to crack cocaine, opioids, and fentanyl.

As the life expectancy continues to drop in the last legitimate first world country, it might be prudent to examine if we deserve to prevail.

“The last legitimate first world country”...wtf? That statement doesn’t belong in your rant.

The US is the wealthiest THIRD WORLD country, the world has ever known.

The major organ malfunction in Americans is the one between the ears.

There is so much stress plac d upon working people barely scraping by so they need an escape. Booze and weed stores are only going to increase.

When are Blue state governors going to pull their heads out of their asses and rejoin this country? Not only are they in defiance of our constitution but they are destroying everyones livelihood in the process. Trump was right months ago when he said we must make sure the cure isn't worst than the virus, a suggestion that Democrats are totally ignoring. In the end, these self centered governors are going to drag their citizens down to depression levels while conservative run states will heal and thrive

GOOD TO HEAR THAT, RAY! If true, then we can also blame that on the government and their FDA, and the obsession with promoting chemical-laden prepackaged artifical processed fast food that supports big business and industry that goes along with the imposed lifestyle that rather than healthy, has everyone running out the door at 6AM with a Pop Tart breakfast or stopping at Mickey D's for a McMuffin, then rushing out on a high pressure 30 minute lunch break to buy sliced pizza or greasy burgers at some fast food place to beat the clock! Then coming home tired and exhaused to whip up some boxed dinner for the family.

People need to stay free to decide what they do. The government cashes in on the things people do. We need to look at that.

Geez, I remember Yul Brennar playing "Man of La Mancha" live. Not ready for the nursing home yet.

If people want to be free then they should be free. But they should not run to the government demanding action for self-imposed consequences of living freely.
The extreme wealthy seem to like doing that and have benefited handsomely.
