The Early Show this morning is reporting that very reliable sources are saying that Osuckhead is dirt napping. They say that he may still be alive but gravely ill but most likely he is in actuality.... DEAD! The President knew that maintaining pressure on that jerk to keep him stuck in his caves would kill him soon enough, why not move on to other evil doers. President Bush just continues to make Dems look like children playing adult games, it must really suck to be them.

Poor Osama, no chance with Whitney and about now he is starting his eternity in hell.

Analysis: Is bin Laden truly dead?
By CLAUDE SALHANI
UPI International Editor

WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Osama bin Laden is dead. At least according to Saudi intelligence sources cited by a French newspaper, which in turn claims to have obtained a document leaked to them by French counter-intelligence services.

The news of the death of al-Qaida's chief was reported in the Saturday edition of l'Est Republicain, a respected regional daily. The French paper cites a memo they claim was obtained from the French counter-espionage agency, the Direction Générale des Services Extérieurs, or the DGSE.

Bin Laden, the world's most wanted terrorist is believed to have died last August as a result of typhoid fever while he was in a remote part of Pakistan, according to the French newspaper.

The report of bin Laden's death was however not confirmed by official sources in either Pakistan or Saudi Arabia.

But a Saudi intelligence source told United Press International: "We are not saying he is dead, but there is a lot of truth in the report." The Saudi source, who spoke on condition that his name not be revealed, confirmed the existence of a Saudi intelligence report relating to the health of bin Laden. And according to that Saudi Arabian intelligence document, it states, "bin Laden was very ill these past few weeks."

The Saudi source told UPI the French intelligence report must have concluded that Saudi authorities believes bin Laden to be dead.

"There is no way we can prove that bin Laden is dead until we can see the body," the Saudi intelligence source told UPI. But, he stressed, "A good portion of what is in the report is true."

For the moment, the source went on to say, "We do not confirm bin Laden's death. "We don't know."

Making the report all the more credible was the choice by those in French counter-intelligence of where to leak the Saudi report, the regional L'Est Republicain, rather than one of the larger Paris-based dailies.

"There is a history with that paper," the Saudi source told UPI. The newspaper is known to have had intelligence reports leaked to it in the past. "They are very reliable," said the Saudi official.

The information purporting the death of the world's most sought after terrorist is based on what the newspaper calls "a usually reliable source," stating that Saudi intelligence sources "are convinced" of bin Laden's death.

The French intelligence report goes on to say, still according to the French daily, that bin Laden died in Pakistan on August 23 after suffering "from a severe bout of typhoid fever," and a bacterial infection provoked a paralysis of his lower body.

The Saudi intelligence report states that bin Laden's geographic isolation "rendered all medical assistance impossible. Indeed, U.S. intelligence sources have long believed bin Laden was hiding in remote parts of Pakistan, close to the border with Afghanistan, areas where sophisticated medical help would be difficult to obtain.

The news of bin Laden's death reached the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Sept. 4. If confirmed, that, in part, might explain the complete absence of Osama bin Laden from making any appearances on the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon just outside Washington, DC.

Instead, a videotape by bin Laden's deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, was released to television news networks.

The French daily reports that the internal and confidential memo from the DGSE reporting the death of "the enemy number one" of the United States and of the West, was handed over to the Presidency of the French republic on Sept. 21.

This is certainly good news...it saves the US taxpayers a $25,000,000.00 million dollar reward...not to mention a very expensive missle to take him out!
I suppose Allah must have found him to be a bad boy...or Allah is a false God...after all wasn't Usama the chosen one...or at least self appointed as such...his followers must be really worried about now. Then again maybe God was upset because his followers were attacking the Catholic Pope,Jews and all of Christain belief!
Taking this aside....I find it interesting that Saudi Intelligence has been aware of Usamas health issues with a 'Waterborn' disease for the past several weeks...was it Typhoid,Cholera or poisoning? Only God knows for sure along with the Saudi Intelligence....like they did not know of his whereabouts!

Let's see .... we're accepting France's word that OBL is dead. Sorry. I want to SEE a body.

Wht better way to get the heat off one's back than to be "dead?"

Pakistani officials doubt Osama death report
September 23, 2006 - 10:33PM

Pakistan has received no information from any foreign government that would corroborate a French newspaper report on Saturday that al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden died of typhoid in Pakistan, a senior government official said.

"No government has shared any such information with us so far, which is the normal thing to do under such circumstances," the official, who has close knowledge of intelligence matters, said on condition of anonymity.

A senior official in Pakistan's Interior Ministry also said: "We have no information about Osama's death."

The daily L'Est Republicain reported that, according to a French secret service report, Saudi Arabia was convinced that bin Laden died of typhoid in Pakistan in late August.

High-ranking diplomats in the Pakistani capital also doubted the French regional newspaper's report.

A US counterterrorism official was also unable to confirm the report.

"We cannot confirm the account," said the official, who declined to be identified because he was not authorised to speak publicly about the issue.

"It's quite possible (that) there was some talk of this, but in terms of being able to confirm this, that I can't do."

The US State Department had no immediate comment and was looking into the reports.

The French government has said it could not confirm the report and would investigate the intelligence leak.

Media reports suggesting that bin Laden was dead, seriously wounded or in ill health have surfaced periodically over the years, especially during lengthy periods of time without taped messages from the al Qaeda leader.

US officials have suggested that his death would be accompanied by a surge of e-mail and telephone chatter among bereaved al Qaeda members, if not an actual announcement from the militant network.

But officials said they were not aware of any such chatter in recent weeks.

A factor fueling persistent speculation about bin Laden's health is that he has not been seen on a new videotape since late 2004, while his second-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahri, has made a number of videotaped appearances.

But bin Laden, 49, a Saudi-born fugitive with a $25 million price on his head, has released several audiotapes this year, which US intelligence has authenticated.

His latest audiotape surfaced in July. In it, he warned Iraq's Shi'ite majority of retaliation for attacks on Sunni Arabs and said al Qaeda would fight the United States anywhere in the world.

The al-Qaeda leader fled to Pakistan after US-backed forces drove his Taliban hosts from power in late 2001, following al Qaeda's September 11 attacks on Washington and New York, but his pursuers soon lost track of him.

While US and Pakistani officials have regularly said since that they believe bin Laden has been hiding somewhere on the rugged border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, intelligence officials have also said that the trail went cold some time ago.

There have been no intelligence "hits" on bin Laden, either through tip-offs or electronic surveillance, for at least two years, Pakistani security officials said earlier this month.

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf held a joint news conference with US President George Bush in Washington on Friday in which the two leaders said their countries were continuing to cooperate closely in the hunt for bin Laden.

The two men also sought to paper over a disagreement prompted by Bush's statement to CNN on Wednesday that he would order troops into Pakistan if he had firm intelligence on bin Laden.

Musharraf, facing anti-US sentiment at home, had said Pakistan would want to handle such a situation itself.

A senior Taliban official, whose fighters are allied to the remnants of al Qaeda in Afghanistan, also poured cold water on the French newspaper story.

"Taliban have no information about the death of Osama. It's only baseless propaganda against mujahideen (Muslim holy warriors)," Mullah Obaidullah told Reuters by satellite telephone from an undisclosed location.

His right hand man is the real threat...Usama was the money man...His Lieutenant is the planner and General...too bad the Saudis won't tell our Intelligence where he is!

side note: it would be easy to confirm the possibility of a 'waterborn' (Thyphoid or Cholera) epidemic as others would also show up along with UBL!

I really don't see that his death is going to change very much. His death is very little different than flying a plane into the Pentagon -- makes a good bang and is quite symbolic, but strategically of very little worth.

We'll know for sure if Bin Laden is dead if the Al Quada hierarchy starts holding its meetings at his grave site. Even if a drone catches them all assembled, they've learned that U.S. war policies forbid making attacks in cemetaries.

I AM with the programme. It's called reality-based pragmatism.

I'm just waiting now for the Dems to say "mission accomplished" and call yet again to just load up the troops and bring them home.

Wake up and have a good cup of coffee before ya post...this was started early this morning...see the "Ding Dong" thread!:bang3:

IF he is dead, libs will rant how it was timed for the November election, or Pres Bush never captured him.

The timing itself would be WAY too convenient, really and it could be that we knew where he was, but we waited to take him out for the November elections. It's a speculation that neither you or I can know is true except the people who pulled it off.

And if that dirtbag is dead, I'll have a party.

Martyred my ass. If the rumor holds true, he died in bed, shitting and puking himself to death. A fitting end.
