eots- I'm a socialist canadian who listens to both left and right wing american talk radio. both sides demonize the other, but RW does a waaaaaay better job of explaining their points because the LW usually just insults Republicans/conservatives/TEA partiers, all the while acting like they have a closed club where all their friends are 'in' on it. I may agree with a lot of leftist positions but LW radio hosts (except maybe Norman Goldman) really are libtards, to my dismay.

Obama and his puppet master Emmanuel know their audience, and speak to them with rhetoric rather than substance because they understand that will work best. eg...single payer health care is the best option for 'everyone as a group' but Obama knows that there would be too big of an outcry of socialism if he didn't take the intermediary step of bankcrupting the insurance companies first so that the govt could step in and 'save' everyone. personally I think single payer is the best option but it is true that you pay for it with rationing and waitlists, and perhaps less innovation.

as far as the psychologist bringing up the old soviet union...anyone who can't see the similarities between them then, and us now, just doesn't realize how deeply steeped in political correctness we are. it didn't work in Russia but I'm sure we can make it work here, dontcha think?

because it is frustrating to try and hold mutually exclusive ideas in their heads at the same time. not all their programs are wrong, not all their reasons are wrong, not all their outcomes are wrong. but their reasons don't logically dictate their programs, which in turn don't logically predict their outcomes.

We have a democracy and he could not do something that the public will could not bare.

Yes we will end up with single payer because of the OBVIOUS reason that the system the US currently have is a failure by all standards. The insurance cos can make a profit and survive if they act like fellow citizens instead of vultures. We all know they will choose the vulture path because history shows 99% corps do because their only motive is profit and whoever is running the show at the time has to figure out how to increase profit to get his big bonus and another contract. If they would just settle for a certain margin of profit and give good service then they would servive. They wont so they will end up dying. Another concern is the current economy the poor man was left with. to go single payer right out of the gate at this mommment in history would be economic disastor.
