Most independent analysts have already concluded that the Democrat Health Care debacle will not lower Health Care costs. In fact most have concluded that costs will actually go up. Just another sad aspect of this Democrat nightmare. They just passed something to say they passed something. It really is very sad.

the retirees who get dropped and are not 65 will likely qualify for the new, expanded Medicaid, how much of this is captured in the CBO cost estimate?

Well no shit sherlock. Premiums will go up every year even in a system that works, its called inflation.

So you are saying these companies would've sent this notice to their employees even if they didn't pass the bill?????? :cuckoo:

LOL. Remember the, "That's not what the CBO report says, it says that people will pay higher premiums because they'll elect better plans!"

It was the magical beans bill, it did everything, even mowed your lawn, all while cutting the deficit. It was like watching a Simpson's episode.... Remember the one where he ran for Sanitation Manager? This was the "Can't Somebody Else Do It?" bill...

No. They would have sent a different notice of increased premiums if the bill hadn't passed. But as the Deere article said, "Deere and Caterpillar Inc., which reported that it would record a $100 million charge Wednesday, say the health care overhaul President Barack Obama signed Wednesday will make a subsidy the companies receive for retiree drug coverage taxable in 2011.

Both companies said it was a one-time charge as they adjust to the new level of expected taxes."

I am no fan of the Obama plan, but I also think the Verizon whining is nonsense. For years, they've offered retirement health to 50-something employees. This added to the cost of everyone's phone service. I'd rather those people go into expanded Medicaid than pay inflated phone prices to cover their health insurance premiums.

It's ok, Obama will dictate that companies will just have to lose money to make sure nobody loses their health insurance. Then the company will eventually go out of business and Obama will blame it on George Bush and the Iraq war. Then Obama will print more money, establish 10 more Czars and create 5 new entitlements.

It will all be ok. No worries.

The healthcare overhaul did NOTHING to address healthcare costs... it only seeks to "mandate" healthcare for all.

You dummies are in for big surprise when you wake up and realize that you are ten times worse off than before.
