Obama warns about losing our "democracy"

Well, we have Republican politicians, Republican candidates and a former Republican President refusing to promise to accept the results of past and future elections, even though they have been able to prove any of their conspiracy accusations in court. Even worse when we have people like Steve Bannon on tape, laying out the whole denial scheme before the election. Worse still, when that former President also claimed a primary was rigged when he lost, and even claimed the EMMYS were rigged when he lost.

A functioning democracy, at its core, requires the loser to be honest and honorable and to accept defeat. If that doesn't happen, we descend into political chaos. As we are beginning to see, and our democracy is teetering on the edge of collapse because of lies and fabricated conspiracy theories.

So, yes, we're in real trouble here. We could look to history as a guide, but the Republicans aren't going to honestly do that.

I know I just wasted some bandwidth there, but I had a moment.

The rout of the Democrats will be quite legitimate and fair this time. There's been a peculiar sort of momentum created for the fascist ideology in America that probably never existed in Germany of the 30's.

Probably mostly due to the American system being so flawed that it enables a political rout of one party with little more than 50 to 55% of the people being willing to accept the takedown of their democratic republic. And just add to that the fact that the presidency is discredited and thoroughly hated on account of him showing so many signs of senility.

The cheating and the stolen election claims will be widely accepted by the winning majority and so making the win for fascism even more convincing!

And only then after the election, the convincing victory of the Republicans will be so intimidating that it will bring the Dem faithful into fascism's fold.

America's agenda will roll on with better than 90% support from the people.

Racism is endemic and complete in the minds of those who oppose the Democrats, and most likely at least half of Dems who get a sour taste in their mouths from hearing a black man assume that he can be so uppity as to assume he can change any minds in America.

Racism is by necessity, the other pea in the fascist pod.

Yes, Obama knows he’s lying, and yes, some Democrats are stupid enough to believe him. Not enough, though, to win the election.
