obama to U of M We need to tax the rich to subsidize your future

Well what the hell would anyone expect Barry to say. "Hey. You guys need to fund your own lives?" Yeah. Right.

In Barry's world those that have need to provide all for those that don't have. You know. Spread your hardearned wealth to some asshole who did nothing to earn it.

The rich can't pay enough to subsidize everything the boiking has promised. Even if all their assets were seized there isn't enough to support this mad government.

I'm not rich by any means. Pay check to pay check here. I dont believe in this "sharing the wealth" one bit..

Granny says, "Dat's right - Obama gonna make dem rich folks pay dey's fair share o' taxes like the rest o' us...

Obama's Next Campaign: More Taxes for Rich Americans
November 17, 2012 — President Barack Obama's re-election campaign may be over, but his economic campaign continues. The president is appealing to business and labor leaders, lawmakers and the public to press Republicans in Congress to go along with his plan to raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans. In his successful re-election campaign, Obama made relentless calls to middle class Americans to support his program of higher taxes for the rich and continued tax cuts for everyone else.
"Our fight goes on because this nation cannot succeed without a growing and thriving middle class," Obama said over and over again. Since winning a second term on November 6, the president has been using a similar strategy to push for increased taxes for high income Americans while preserving the existing rate for the middle class. In a news conference this past Wednesday, Obama mentioned the middle class 21 times. "We should not hold the middle class hostage while we debate tax cuts for the wealthy. We should at least do what we agree on, and that is to keep middle class taxes lower."

The president, along with the top Democrats and Republicans in Congress, have begun negotiations, hoping to avert what is being called the "fiscal cliff." The Republican Speaker of the House, John Boehner, is holding firm in his demand for an agreement to cut spending on some social programs, but says he is willing to compromise on taxes. "To show our seriousness, we have put revenue on the table, as long as it is accompanied by significant spending cuts," Boehner said. To shrink the U.S. budget deficit, the White House wants an additional $1.6 trillion in revenues over 10 years, about twice what the president sought in the previous negotiations, in 2011. Under that agreement, deep government spending cuts would take effect and tax breaks would expire January 1, 2013.

Stan Collender works with clients in the financial industry at the Washington-based public relations firm Qorvis Communications. He says Obama's re-election and the urgency of the impending fiscal cliff give the president a political advantage in the talks. "The tax increases will go into effect automatically, and the spending cuts will go into effect automatically," Collender said. "These are things the Republicans would like to stop, but the only way they can stop is by having legislation that the president will sign."

Obama, Congress to Continue Negotiations on 'Fiscal Cliff'
November 17, 2012 - U.S. President Barack Obama will resume negotiations with congressional leaders later this month to try to resolve crucial government financial issues before the end of the year.
Obama is on a three-nation trip to Asia beginning Sunday in Bangkok. Aboard the president's plane Saturday, White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters Obama is expected to meet again with lawmakers during the week beginning November 26 for further discussions on resolving the looming debt crisis known as "the fiscal cliff." Obama returns to Washington from Thailand, Burma and Cambodia on Wednesday, a day before the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday, a time when many lawmakers would be unavailable or away from the capital, spending time with their families in their home districts.

President Obama and four congressional leaders started negotiations on the debt issue on Friday. Both sides described their talks at the White House as constructive, but Saturday's announcement by the president's spokesman was the first indication when the meetings might resume. By January 1, the U.S. government must enact sharp spending cuts and tax increases that together would produce about $600 billion, unless Congress and the White House can reach an agreement before then on how to reduce the multitrillion-dollar U.S. debt. The term "fiscal cliff" symbolizes the financial precipice that looms at the start of the new year.

Should the two major political parties be unable to resolve the financial impasse in time, experts believe there would be serious consequences for the national economy and government services to the public: spending restrictions would force sharp cutbacks in many key defense and domestic programs, and all American wage-earners would face an immediate large increase in income taxes beginning in January. In his weekly address to the nation Saturday, Obama urged Congress to pass a law preventing the January 1 automatic tax hike. Obama said the middle class should not be held "hostage" while Congress debates tax cuts for people making more than $250,000 a year.

“A quarter of all millionaire [earners] pay lower taxes than millions of middle-class households. t… [audience boos] Is that fair? … does it make sense to you? … do we want to invest in things like… student loans and grants?”

He called on Congress to cut the interest rate on government loans to students, and said he had already limited graduates’ monthly payments on government loans to 10 percent of their after-tax income.

When he announced the student-loan rollback proposals last year, education and financial experts said they would inflate the education sector bubble, and would leave millions of graduates with growing debts even before they try to marry or buy houses.

that barry is something. I'm far from rich and I don't believe in this sorta crap.

He goes around saying stuff like this, Yet we are called racists when we say he won the election by promising goodies.

As if that has not been standard operating procedure for the dem party for decades. The only thing Obama did different was get the brain storm to do a 850 Billion dollar Stimulus and put his own people in charge of deciding who gets the money.

Why did it take someone so long to think of that. Fuck raising campaign money, just pass massive spending bills then use that money as if it is campaign cash, and selectively dole it out to reward supporters and buy more votes.

Brilliant.
