Ronald Reagan was elected president of a labor union 6 times.

And he wholeheartedly supported Right To Work.

Of course he did. The freedom to choose is as American as it gets. I'm still shocked there are so few 'Right-To-Work' States.

Wisconsin became the 25th state to join the ranks of Right to Work.
In some states, contrary to US law( Taft-Hartley Act) many shops are still to this day "closed"....These include for example the labor unions in NYC....For the most part, one must know or be related to an insider to gain employment. Its an unwritten rule and depts of labor that enforce labor law often look the other way.
I had two friends I used to play ball with that needed the help of a VP in a major construction firm in NYC( another friend's father) to pull some strings so they could join trade unions.
One got into the Laborers Union. The other Steamfitters.
Without this assistance, these two guys did not stand a chance. That's New York for ya....Corrupt.

Obama is correct, but most capitalists love low-wage workers with few rights and that's what you get without unions. The Middle Class is a creation of the government. Capitalism doesn't have one, at least of any size that matters that is.

Did you not hear about the massive lay offs happening because of Obama's failed healthcare and the only reason he gives 2 years of unemployment is because he knew that all these people would be laid off because he is solely responsible for putting people in that position.

Obama has turned this country into a divided mass of crying whiners and unemployed workers. But hey keep sucking his dick.

Ok....We've now seen the liberal talking point....cool.
It doesn't change the fact that in a growth state( Wisconsin) workers can no make their own choice whether or not to join a labor collective.
Where's the problem? Are unionists anti choice? Is it your fear that unions come with such a negative perception that fewer people will join up?....
Does the fact that with Right to Work status unions will now find it more difficult to simply swoop in on a new business and declare "this is a union shop"?
Remember the VW plant in Chattanooga? The unions tried three times to force certification. They were successful in having a judge void the vote. Each time they came back fewer people voted for the union. And why is this? Because the majority of the workers did not want the union in their place of employment.

There has to be a balance, absolute strangle holds on power corrupt wether they be corporations or Unions. Unions are great for raising wages at times when they need to be but, Unions dont create businesses, and when unchecked create environments that inhibit new businesses. I would say economic diverstity is a good thing
