Obama-care lands at the supreme court, what your thoughts?

The Supreme Court can be unconstitutional and lawless. It's done that before. Obamacare is unconstitutional on its face.

It's time for the obscene abuse of the commerce and welfare clause to stop. The enumerated powers along with the 10th amendment is so fucking crystal clear that only a central planner could think to circumvent the original intent of a federal government with limited powers. Just because someone thinks they know what is best for others doesn't mean they have the lawful right to impose their will. Obamacare will be shot down in the SC. The alternative is unthinkable:

U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time

If the government can make you purchase car insurance, pay into your social security retirement fund, medicare insurance, etc etc etc.., fining someone who does not purchase healthcare insurance is as legal as any of the aforementioned.

my thoughts are that this belongs in the healthcare section.

you asked.

Healthcare section?
Its is the largest political battle this country has ever seen

you have the judicial
the legislative and the executive
This will for ever change the health-care system in our country no matter what the out-come

It also took the focus off of what we really needed to be focused with at that time, the economy

Even if you don't own a car, they can make you buy insurance? Really?

What human activity is not covered under the "Good and welfare" clause?

It shouldnt be at the Supreme Court. It shouldn't have been passed period.

Heaven forbid something happens to one of the Justices and Obama gets another appointment before this case is heard.

I agree
I think it will also be BHO last straw as it pertains to his re-election

My first thought is 5 to 4, nice try socialists.

There is no mandate to purchase a car

There is a big difference in paying taxes and paying a private insurance company by force

First, we're talking the federal government, not a state government. Secondly, not even state governments can force one to buy car insurance...they can only force you to have it if you want to drive on PUBLIC roads. Big frickin' difference.

Social Security, Medicare, also unconstitutional unless I missed seeing that power granted to the federal government among the enumerated powers. Care to point out where the feds have this authority?

It's all up to Kennedy.

Sotomoyor, Ginsberg, Breyer and Kagan are all whackadoo NeoFascists who insist the State has the ability to direct every conceivable human activity under the "Good and Commerce" Clause.

Roberts, Alito, Thomas and Scalia actually take their oath to uphold the Constitution seriously.

Kagan was in charge of defending Obamacare as President Barack Obama’s solicitor general before he appointed her, so she should be recused, but its 5 to 4 any how.

Exactly. That's why raising taxes to pay for a public option might not sit well with you, but at least it would be constitutional.
