Chicago recorded fewer shootings in February 2023 than any February since at least 2019, according to new police department figures, while the number of homicides in the first months of 2023 is below each of the last two years.

According to Chicago Police Department data published Wednesday, the city has recorded 79 homicides this year through the end of February — a total that is down 14% compared to the same point last year but 13% over 2021.

Funny what gets ignored here.

I wish Americans cared as much about civil liberty abuses North of your border as they do the murders in Chicago. I know we are different nations, but your federal government and intel agencies are well versed on how far behind Ontario is, in essense, by association, what danger they pose to U.S reputation globallly. Average Americans don't care enough.

Funny how you, your dem masters and their media allies have ignored the gun violence in Chicago for years but now claim a 14% drop is a victory.

Funny how long it took for blacks to finally learn to hide. Darwinism has gradually eliminated the easy targets.

So what? Murder and crime rates always fluctuate.

A 10 or 20 year period is far more informative than a 12 month period

Trump told us he was going to clean up Chicago and it was going to be easy. What happened?

He left it to you to do it. It appears to be working, as the easy marks have obviously been thinned out. People are leaving Illinois in droves, same as they're leaving California.

Yeah, that's because you don't live here, or you wouldn't make such an idiotic statement.

Cherry picking one cold month and ignoring the fact that our murder stats are STILL attrocious makes you look silly.

Please note, when the Murder rate started shooting up, and that was in 2016, after the Laquan McDonald incident (which I've loudly condemned) and a lot of handcuffs were put on police on how they handle crime. It sprang up again when Mayor Beetlejuice completely caved to BLM.

Sadly, Chicago had a chance to vote in a law and order mayor, and chose more of the same with Brandon Johnson. So watch the city continue to swirl down the toilet bowl.

Maybe you should go there to live now that it is safe.

Let's celebrate 79 homicides in 2 months!

Chicago leaders rejected his ideas to fix it. I distinctly remember Trump trying to stop riots with national guardsmen, but Dems liked the riots so they rejected his offer.

That's because Trump can't call up the National Guard, unless there's a war.
Only state governors can do that, and most of them did.

The problem is the National Guard isn't really trained to do law enforcement, except for military police units.

You eventually reach the point where all the people have been shot so you have to wait for new gang membwrs to be recruited to do more shooting
