By being in the news cycle night in, and night out, they have used the rightwing propaganda ploy of repeating something over and over again, until it sticks with a large enough group of people. What they have done might not bring results in the next election, or even the next few elections, but it will slowly but surely eat into the state laws being passed, until the day comes, there are no more laws that can be passed, that will be of any consequence on voting rights.

If Republicans lose just two more states turning blue, they are done, and it doesn't matter which two they are. Democrats have time on their side, the one thing Republicans don't, and between Covid deaths, and juyst plain old aging, that time is short.
