With the second bogus impeachment in the books, the Washington Post has finally seen fit to admit that President Trump did not incite the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6 with his speech, acknowledging that it was, in fact, planned in advance.

The article, published Tuesday, the day before Biden’s inauguration, declares in its headline “Self-styled militia members planned on storming the U.S. Capitol days in advance of Jan. 6 attack, court documents say” and opens with the following paragraphs.

The obvious is finally admitted, Trump never incited the riot.

I knew that from the start since reading the transcript of the speech.

Both are, in fact true, that Trump did incite..both over the course of 6 weeks..but that very day in his speech. Also, the stomring was planned by a number of groups..with material stashed and homework done.
No..Trump did not say go to the Capital and storm it---he did send the crowd there..the fig leaf of peaceful protest does not cover the irresponsibility of that action.

Then there is the matter of his long-delayed response to the riot, while it was happening. He sat in front of his TV and enjoyed the show.

If we call it treason, that has unfortunate connotations because Trump led the calls that the election was illegal and must be stopped. I doubt if there will even be any impeachment trial. It's a shame taxpayers have to waste money like this just so the commies can try to stop Trump from running again. They don't even need impeachment to keep him from running again. Section 3 of the 14th Amendment already prevents him from running again.

I really don't know. Francis Beevers of the Carolinas really doesn't want us to find out what Trump did and chose not to do on an insurrection. If we call it treason, that has unfortunate connotations because Trump led the calls that the election was illegal and must be stopped. But what Trump did and didn't do specifically about preplanning an assault on congresspeople … and then sending in help to protect congress …. hopefully the impeachment trial will make that clear

According to the Constitution, removal from office isn’t the only consequence of conviction. And Section 2 Article 3 states specifically that the Senate has the sole power to conduct a trial of all impeachment’s. Note the WORD all. It offers no exclusions.

They don't even need impeachment to keep him from running again. Section 3 of the 14th Amendment already prevents him from running again.

the Constitution (article 1, section 3, clause 6) says the Senate Has the sole power to try all impeachments. ALL IMPEACHMENTS. No deadline, no requirement that it has to be a sitting president. Other content about impeachments never states that removal from office is the only consequence of conviction.

He and most of his listeners were still at the WHITE HOUSE when the riots started at the Capital, he finish his speech around 15-20 AFTER the riot started, which was 1 1/2 MILES away.

I have yet to read of his telling them to attack anyone or break into the building in the speech, while I can easily post his statement that they make their protest peaceful.

When did they actually break through the barriers?
