He was the creator of the Juche ideology and held the highest position in the North Korean political circle. Yet he left North Korea and has been blaming the country till now.

He visited US, Japan and told the people that the North Korean regime starved 3million to death.This is why North Korea sent assassins to shut Hwang up.

I guess North Korea was afraid of Hwang telling the world the truth about North Korea.Thousands of people are still trying to escape from North Korea and go to other places to survive. The defectors all say the North Korean regime oppresses people.

This is the reason why the international community doesn't trust North Korea and South Korea is unwilling to fully commit to helping its brethren country. North Korea should change.

Defense Minister Kim Tae-young said the most likely cause of the disaster was a torpedo exploding near the ship, with the force of the underwater blast ripping the vessel apart. Investigators who examined salvaged wreckage separately announced Sunday that a close-range, external explosion likely sank it.

"Basically, I think the bubble jet effect caused by a heavy torpedo is the most likely" cause for the blast, Kim told reporters.

Kim, however, did not speculate on who may have fired it and said an investigation was ongoing and it's still too early to determine the cause.

Seoul has not directly blamed North Korea for the blast, and Pyongyang has denied its involvement, but suspicion remains given the country's history of provocation and attacks on the South. Local media have increasingly been speculating the disaster was due to a North Korean attack.

Jan. 9, 2017 -- China expressed concerns regarding North Korea's repeated threats to test-launch an intercontinental ballistic missile, according to Xinhua news agency.

Beijing is taking the statements seriously, including the most recent announcement issued Sunday that reiterated an earlier statement Kim Jong Un made during his New Year's speech. On New Year's Day Kim said the country had reached the last stage of preparing a test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile that may be capable of targeting the U.S. mainland. Pyongyang said the launch would take place at an arbitrary time and place determined by Kim. The statement has raised the threat level in South Korea, where the military is monitoring the situation.

Lu Kang, China's foreign ministry spokesman, told reporters Monday that Beijing fears a situation that only escalates tensions in the region. "The United Nations Security Council has clear rules for North Korea regarding its use of ICBM technology to test missiles," Lu said. "In this complex and sensitive situation, China asks all relevant parties to not engage in acts that will raise tensions." The spokesman also said China is closely watching for new developments, and that the country is ready to play its "given role" for the sake of peace and stability in the region.

Lu's statements on Monday was in part a response to remarks U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter said on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday. Carter had said North Korea's nuclear and missile programs are a "serious threat" that it would shoot down any missile if aimed at "us" as well as "friends or allies." The latter statement has raised Beijing's concerns, according to Yonhap.

In Seoul, military officials say they cannot rule out the possibility Pyongyang could launch either the KN-08 or the KN-14 ballistic missiles, adding that they are "closely monitoring the situation," local news service Newsis reported. Both the KN-08 and KN-14 are road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missiles. The KN-08 has a range of 7,500 miles, and the KN-14 is estimated to have a range between 5,600 and 6,200 miles, according to the report. Analysts believe the North's test-launches of intermediate-range ballistic missiles, the Musudan, were proxy tests to verify ICBM launch capability.

The senior North Korea diplomat who defected to the South from Pyongyang's embassy in London said it is unlikely North Korea would pursue the path of denuclearization, owing to "internal factors" of the regime and U.S.-South Korea requirements for engagement. Thae Yong-ho, who has been providing the local press with revelations about the North Korean leadership since his defection, said Kim Jong Un could agree to a nuclear freeze but on the condition of suspended sanctions and an end to military exercises.

Speaking at a conference on regional security held by the government-run Institute for National Security Strategy, Thae said it's likely neither Washington nor Seoul would meet those demands, local news service Money Today reported Thursday. Even if North Korea agrees to a nuclear freeze, a final stage of denuclearization may not be achieved because of Kim's beliefs. "Whether it's Kim Jong Un or Kim Jong Il, they have seen the last days of other dictators," Thae said. "[They saw] there are no dictators who survive."

The high-profile defector also said the 1994 Agreed Framework, a nuclear freeze agreement reached between the United States and North Korea, was not a deal North Korea believed in, local news service EDaily reported. Rather, the deal was seen as a way for Kim Jong Il to "buy time and postpone a U.S. strike," while the former leader prepared a road map to stabilize North Korea in the aftermath of the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Lee Sang-hyun, a chief researcher at the Sejong Institute, a South Korean think tank, said at a conference in Seoul North Korea could have been secretly producing highly enriched uranium, or HEU, while staying relatively undetected, Yonhap reported. HEU can be produced in small-scale facilities, unlike plutonium that requires larger stations like nuclear reactors, Lee said. Lee said his findings indicate North Korea can produce about 13 pounds of plutonium annually, while its cache of HEU increases by 176 pounds every year.

March 16, 2017 — A North Korean hacking group known as Lazarus was likely behind a recent cyber campaign targeting organizations in 31 countries, following high-profile attacks on Bangladesh Bank, Sony and South Korea, cybersecurity firm Symantec Corp said Wednesday.

Symantec said in a blog that researchers have uncovered four pieces of digital evidence suggesting the Lazarus group was behind the campaign that sought to infect victims with “loader” software used to stage attacks by installing other malicious programs. “We are reasonably certain” Lazarus was responsible, Symantec researcher Eric Chien said in an interview.

North Korea denies involvement

The North Korean government has denied allegations it was involved in the hacks, which were made by officials in Washington and Seoul, as well as security firms. U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation representatives could not immediately be reached for comment. Symantec did not identify targeted organizations and said it did not know if any money had been stolen. Nonetheless, Symantec said the claim was significant because the group used a more sophisticated targeting approach than in previous campaigns. “This represents a significant escalation of the threat,” said Dan Guido, chief executive of Trail of Bits, which does consulting to banks and the U.S. government.

History of hacks

Lazarus has been blamed for a string of hacks dating back to at least 2009, including last year’s $81 million heist from Bangladesh’s central bank, the 2014 hack of Sony Pictures Entertainment that crippled its network for weeks and a long-running campaign against organizations in South Korea. Guido, who reviewed Symantec’s finding, said that it was troubling to see a hacking group focus on attacking banks using increasingly sophisticated techniques. “This is a dangerous development,” he said. Symantec, which has one of the world’s largest teams of malware researchers, regularly analyzes emerging cyberthreats to help defend businesses, governments and consumers that use its security products.

Latest attacks surfaced in Poland

The firm analyzed the hacking campaign last month when news surfaced that Polish banks had been infected with malware. At the time, Symantec said it had weak evidence to blame Lazarus. Reuters has been unable to ascertain what happened in that attack. Poland’s biggest bank lobbying group, ZBP, in February said the sector was targeted in a cyberattack but did not provide further details. Government authorities declined comment on the incident. Authorities in Poland could not be reached for comment late Wednesday.

Symantec said the latest campaign was launched by infecting websites that intended victims were likely to visit, which is known as a “watering hole” attack. Folks, the world is running out of oil and soon thereafter natural gas in amounts we can rely on as our energy source. Nuclear electric energy is our future sustainable energy source.

Having said that we need all the existing centrifuges we can make as well as all the uranium we can find to run these electric nuclear generation plants.

The world needs to “buy” North Korea’s enriched uranium giving North Korea a good money source to improve the living standards of their country.
