No, We Will Not Sacrifice Our Parents And Grandparents At The Alter Of Trumps Economy

Leave it to the Daily Kook to leave out the fact that the Democrats can limit their exposure by having their welfare and food stamps direct deposited to their EBT cards....

Funny you should mention Welfare. There are more party of the rump voters on welfare than any other one group. The poorest states with the highest per capita number of welfare recipients are all deep red states. You have a backward firing gun on your hands.
Gee, maybe the red states should ban Democrats from living there...

Hardly surprising, we see that in a two-party split, 60-80% of welfare recipients are Democrats, while full time Workers are evenly divided between parties.

And Welfare is run by the State which are Republican. You just can't stand it that the mismanagement is done primarily by Republicans. Now take a look at just a state like Alabama that has a dominant Republican population. Yet it has a higher per capita of people on Welfare than even California or NY does.
Don't fret over it...

The Democrats have gotten Liberal judges to block a lot of the "welfare to work" programs, but after Trump has 4 more years of appointing federal judges (and stacking the SCOTUS), I'm sure the programs will be instituted....

Then we can make the worthless Democrats get JOBS!!!

So far, it hasn't worked in Republican run states. In fact, the Dem Run States send money to the Republican run states to pay for their welfare. When is reality going to set in to you. There is only one rich Republican run state and that is Texas and yet, it's still on of the highest welfare states in the nation. The others are dirt poor and require the Blue States to send them money to pay their bills. So much for fiscal conservatism.

One of the main reasons is California having people sell their house in retirement and relocate somewhere where housing is less expensive. Thus they collect SSI and Medicare/Medicaid in another state, yet they paid into the system when they worked in California. The average age of a Californian is 51 while it is 53 in Mississippi. The growth of Pheonix to the 5th largest city in the nation is due to this phenomenon. So you casting about with this type of information is disingenuous. There is a lot of other things that goes into why. You haven't even touched upon one of them.

One other point - Correlation does not imply causation for the case of Dem vs Repub states. States with large cities and HUGE populations have a liberal bent. This also skews the data.

So tired of this type of disinformation - this is typical of "talking points" that people throw out that have no basis and no real study done. Find me a study that isn't skewed and proves out your theory of "Dem" state vs "Repub" state. It's all bullshit.

California retired people are NOT moving to Alabama and Georgia, two of the worst welfare states in the nation. The worst is Louisiana. People are NOT moving from the west or the north to those three locations. You seem to want to remove them from the equation. They ARE the equation.
That's not the point. The point is you are equating Dem vs Repub states as the reason why there is a difference on who gets help. Political policies have very little to nothing to do with it. It has to do with demographics, state resources and weather. That's the majority of it.

You are ignorant. Educate yourself.

The economy will only remain closed long enough to build up the needed capacity and supplies in hospitals and clinics. As well as social safety nets. As soon as that is ready, the country will open back up. There is no hiding from this virus.

That should be by Easter.

Democrats have already chosen to damage the economy for political purposes. They will to anything to defeat Trump.

The big bitch about the Moscow Mitch and Rump plan was that it had almost a 500 billion dollar non discretionary slush fund that Rump could spend any way he liked. And that includes more "Build that wall" nonsense which has absolutely nothing to do with keeping workings in places like Cleveland and DC's head above the water. It had nothing to do with expanding the Virus prevention. The Bi-partisan bill in the senate that was stalled by Moscow Mitch didn't have that in it. It did have a form of the slush fund but every dime had to be accounted for as it was spent back to congress.

As it stands now, they are within days of coming up with a viable agreement between the house and the senate with MOST important items included. No, the Senate Republicans don't get everything they want and the House Democrats don't get everything they want. But for the first time in a very, very long time, both sides have compromised and came up with what is needed. That's the way it's supposed to work. And no one is being held hostage.

Go burn down your own shed. But make sure that it won't spread to your neighbors and I won't care.

In the meantime - let's give 25million to the Kennedy Center. That's definitely related.

Ironically, the elderly had no qualms whatsoever about sacrificing the prosperity of the next generation for their own temporary benefit.

The debt clock is nearing 24 trillion last I checked. Purchasing power is basically shot to hell.

To steal a great quote from George Washington, ''No generation has the right to contract debts greater than can be paid off during the course of its own existence."

By stealing from prosperity from tomorrow so that we can spend it today, we enslave ourselves and future generations.

But I digress.

Texas Lt Gov Dan Patrick bluntly said what trump has been saying more subtly with his 15-day plan to open up businesses and schools — that grandparents should sacrifice their lives to save the economy for the children. Also, he is implying that there are only two (false) choices — save the economy or let the elderly die.

In the video segment below, Tucker Carlson, instead of being his usual chatty and nasty self, listens in silence, probably thinking of his parents, and asks a question in the end —

Tucker: You are basically saying that this disease could take our life, but that’s not the scariest thing to you, there’s something that would be worse than dying.

Patrick: Yeah

The party of life ladies and gentlemen. I just can't figure out why nobody takes them seriously.

How do you like that? GOP "Pro Lifers" willing to sacrifice grandma and grandpa for Trumps economy. Go figure.

Does anyone really believe that we can survive a shelter in place situation for 2 years until a vaccine is created? Most of us will very likely experience Coronavirus first hand, sooner or later, before a vaccine is even approved.

Who the fuck said two weeks? How about 30 days to slow it down? The vaccine will come when it comes.

Exactly. We need to roll back the Trump tax cuts, the Bush tax cuts, all the way back to the Reagan tax cuts, and end the sham of the Laffer curve drawn up on a napkin bullshit that started all of this when we had a national debt less than $1T, and regulations that prevented the recessions, income inequality, and deficit spending.

Take your incoherent, rambling bullshit delusions, and go off somewhere and cram them up your ass where they can hold in your brain. If some site posted that Trump was selling rooms at his resorts to space aliens, you'd believe and print that too.

It's amazing how you commie demoncrats are getting worked up over a few million deaths. You all freak out over us wanting to save our economy and the brave souls who are going risk & lose their lives to keep America great, but you're oddly silent on the mass killings by the communist regimes you hold so dear to your hearts. Stalin killed 3 million people. Mao's great famine killed about 15 million. Pol Pot killed 1.5 to 2 million people. You democrat liberals celebrate these events and hold them up as great examples of what true leadership can get done, but when we try to do something similar here you all cry foul? Get over yourselves. Your hatred for America and America is very transparent.

Yes Virginia it is true, those who support trump and won't follow the advice of Medical Professionals, and their mayors and most of their governors, are STUPID!!!
Another liberal cheers as we are headed to a depression.

I've lost more money in the markets in the last month than you've earned in the past three years. Go F yourself.

Why don't you go help all the welfare bums in San Fransisco clean the shit off the sidewalks. The next pandemic will start in that filthy goddamn Democrat toilet.

How many "welfare bums" have you seen in San Francisco? None, since welfare no longer exists in the United States. President Clinton signed the bill which ended welfare (AFDC) and signed a bill which allowed every state to implement temporary aid to needy families (TANF).

Your ignorance and hate for the poor, the mentally ill and millions of Democrats is pathological! You are not a patriot, you're deplorable and will never grow up.

It's just another name for welfare.

You never listn to the Progs like Reich, Emmanual, and Obama on the issue as an example. They will enforce it.

How do you like that? Dems are willing (and eager) to see the economy go down the crapper because they think it will help them win the November election.

You have a choice. In this case, it's human life versus a bogus economy that can be repaired. But you will never get that life back. And more deaths are on the way.

The economy affects people's ability to keep a roof over their head, to put food in their stomachs, and otherwise to meet their basic life needs.

There is a very real likelihood that the economic damage being done due to the hysteria over this virus will ultimately result in more deaths, and more general suffering, than the virus itself would directly have caused.

I get that your kind do not understand the circumstances of those of us who are expected to contribute to society, to work to earn a living. But where do you think your food stamps and other government welfare benefits come from?

Without enough of us actual working and creating wealth, and paying taxes, there will be no welfare for you and your kind. You'll starve just like the rest of us.
