Green energy is fine, but eliminating fossil fuels is not only unpractical but not even plausible. But we do need to increase the production of biofuels, solar panels, geothermal, tidal and wind in designated areas although wind looks too expensive, especially considering those large wind turbines only have a 20 year lifespan.

The more renewables we use, the longer our fossil fuels will last.

The biofuels are in danger if Hiden gets elected.
Liberals hate the farm subsidies that make it profitable.

Biofuels cause land use change that has the potential to cause even more emissions than fossil fuels. No one has calculated the pollution from producing solar panels or their eventual waste problem. Geothermal has the potential to destroy ecosystems and environmentalists have already torn down hydro-electric dams for the same reason. Tidal energy generation would most certainly cause environmental ocean damage. You are correct about wind turbines.

Eliminating diesel trucks and jet planes that run on fossil fuels is a long way off. But it will happen.
Seriously, many electric cars can go 0-60 in three seconds and cost No more or less then fossil fuel car that do the same. This, while cost 1/5/to run. Go ride your horse.

All goods consumed in this country are transported by truck and train, both of which burn diesel fuel.

Ya'll are going to be awfully hungry with my truck parked.
That's nice. Are you in Full Retard Mode, pretending that all oil will disappear in January?

Grow. The. Fuck. Up.

WTF was that?

Then it's not capitalism if the govt. pays for the means of production.

Tell that to Raytheon.

I was paid good private capitalist monies to keep their YUGE microwaves operating at Tyson's in NW Arkansas...

Lots of things will no doubt happen "a long way off" as technology has a way of exponential development. If we are going to have all electric cars, our electric energy infrastructure will need significant upgrading. In CA, the governor is proposing a date of 2035 to eliminate the production of gas engines. Meanwhile, every time the wind blows, the utility has a "Public Safety Power Shut Off" There was one last week and now another one coming on Oct 25th. Whole swaths of the grid (tens of thousands) will have the power shut off to their homes for two days and maybe more if the wind keeps blowing because the utility has not properly maintained their power lines even though energy costs are through the roof for homeowners. Right now I just don't see electric vehicles as a viable alternative.

Did you not hear your fucking windbag? He said zero emissions by 2025. That's less than 5 years mother fucker.
