"A New Jersey police officer has been arrested for allegedly running a meth lab out of his home, according to prosecutors. Christopher Walls, 50, was taken into police custody after his colleagues at the Long Branch Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call at his residence on Saturday night. While investigating the scene, responding officers were told by another resident at Walls' home that the 19-year veteran was "involved in suspicious narcotics activity" -- Upon further investigation, authorities found "materials, chemicals and instruments consistent with a methamphetamine laboratory in both the basement and in a shed on the property.

Walls also had an unsecured gun safe containing two long guns, four handguns, eight high-capacity magazines, and a large quantity of ammunition that was accessible to a child living in the residence, according to officials. Walls faces a maximum of 60 years in state prison if convicted of all his charges."

This is why good cops matter.......the officers involved could have easily just ignored the person telling them about the meth lab in the basement; or just looked the other way after seeing it....but they did the right thing.....Keeping bad cops in your ranks is a detriment to good cops and the community at large....

Only two long guns, four handguns, eight high-capacity magazines? Not much on an "arsenal." He must be a rookie.

I see it's not just Canada. The difference is, this guy wasn't ruining other peoples lives with lies and misrepresentation, he was only ruining his own.

From the RCMP on down, Canada spits on civil liberties. Don't EVER become like Canada, we won't even be in the G7 within 25 years.

He should get a warning and a slap on the wrist

It's easy to be corrupted when you have to work with the lowest common denominator and dregs of society
Cops? Huh- I thought they were gods with guns and badges- could do no wrong- must be obeyed and worshiped- bowed down to- the creed of comply or die comes to mind as well- yeah, saints they are, I'm sure of it-

Federal Judge In Houston Orders Review Of Harding Street Raid Evidence In Lawsuit

The ruling came during the civil case filed by the family of Pecan Park residents Dennis Tuttle and Rhogena Nichols, who were shot and killed during a no-knock drug raid orchestrated by disgraced former Houston Police officer Gerald Goines.

If meth was legalized, this wouldn't be an issue.....

The only issue then would be how to manufacture it without blowing up half of the neighborhood....
