Kinda crazy how we spent an entire season off when not one NFL player had a protest or an event. Now that the season is starting they get involved. If you can’t actually spend your own off time protesting it’s not even serious to them. It’s a worthless protest. You can’t be so emotionally investing in something you won’t do on your own time.

I don't watch sports so I guess I don't get to give a shit.

Still against the 1st amendment I see, like 45.

The authoritarian right is indeed tedious and moronic.

That they obsess over this non-issue is a manifestation of true rightwing idiocy.

Had conservatives simply ignored what the players were doing from the outset, the demonstrations would have likely ended by now.

And for far too many on the right this is solely about race and conservatives’ unwarranted hostility with regard to issues that black Americans are concerned about.

I think it's unfortunate as sporting events are rare opportunities where Americans can draw together for a couple hours of fun. I'm not about to espouse infringing on another's 1st A rights though! It's a private company and leadership can do whatever they want. I take great umbrage at the antics, but hey freedom covers even the repugnant. One's rights can't only extend to what one group of people espouse; thank God for all those who have bled and died in securing our freedoms in the first place...!

How is that being against the first amendment? You do realize the amendment was created so that government could not stop us from free speech, not the NFL, don't you?

If you have issues with so-called issues blacks are concerned about, you take that up with your Mayor, your Congress person, your Senator, not the audience of a sporting event.

Very very very few people do really care. It's a NOTHING burger issue anymore.

If that were the case, they wouldn't be consistently losing an audience.

When you are an entertainer of some sort, you depend on an audience that creates the wealth in which you are paid.

Americans come in all shapes and sizes. So your audience has all different kinds of people. When you take a political stance, about a third of your audience doesn't care. They only came to see you catch a football or sing a song. Another third totally agrees with your points, and they are happy. The other third you totally offend; in this instance, many from the military and I'm sure most everybody that's on a police force.

In short, taking a political stance as an entertainer is the stupidest things one could do. There is an old adage: don't bite the hand that feeds you.

Think that might be because what they're doing is not "protesting" but resisting?

Lemme guess --- I lost you at the word "think"....

Tell that to the MIC that runs those puppet shows out in front of a captive audience who came there for an entirely different reason. You know, the MIC that has issues with recruitment and nation-building and how much taxpayer money they can sponge for more war toys, so that they have to hijack sports events with jingoism commercials

nice!

Its funny how Social Media can silence dissenting points of view, but not the NFL. The left are all about free speech when it comes to that private business.

So they pay money for advertisement and you think that's the same?

Same as players kneeling during the Anthem.
