The typical route to generational wealth is though education. My perception of intercity black culture is that acquisition of education is not generally promoted as a stepping stone out of poverty.

In fact...the prevailing perception of intercity schools is that they are failing in their mission to instill the building blocks for future learning mostly due to the lack of motivated students, parents and teachers.
