New GOP caucus to promote "Anglo Saxon Political Traditions"

When you're president, you're in charge and you're most responsible.

Yup. And no Democrats were even partially responsible.....right?

Not Clinton, who first forced Fannie and Freddie to start buying subprime crap.

And no other Dems who fully supported CRA and other measures that forced banks
to make loans to risky borrowers. Not even Obama when he was organizing his Chicago community.
Meaningless
Bush and the GOP were most responsible.

Bush was a total failure. Trump was a total failure. The majority of the problems in the US can be traced back to the total failures of the GOP.
You can blame others all you want, but no unbiased person believes it.

I have posted already in this thread the main reasons why the economic collapse happened at the end of the bush boy years.

DEGREULATION.

Loans that were illegal before the bush boy and his republican congress were all of a sudden legal. With the already proven predictable outcomes which were warned before the deregulation.

It was illegal for Fannie Mae to buy those formerly illegal and predatory lending loans before the bush boy and his republican congress.

It was illegal for those loans to be bundled with a few good loans then given the rating of prime before the bush boy and his republican congress.

States had lending regulations before the bush boy and his republican congress voided all state laws and regulations regarding lending.

Democrats aren't the party of tax cuts or deregulation.

That is the republican party.

They can lie through their teeth all they want but that isn't doing to change reality and honest facts.

Which makes you arguing with them a waste of time.

Loans that were illegal before the bush boy and his republican congress were all of a sudden legal.

Which ones? When was legislation passed to make them legal? Be specific.

It was illegal for Fannie Mae to buy those formerly illegal and predatory lending loans before the bush boy and his republican congress.

Liar.

Government policies and the subprime mortgage crisis - Wikipedia

Well, why even hide it at this point. Not terribly surprising, I guess.

A policy platform for the group, which calls itself the America First Caucus, declares that "a certain intellectual boldness is needed" in order to "follow in President Trump’s footsteps, and potentially step on some toes and sacrifice sacred cows for the good of the American nation."

In a section describing its position on infrastructure, the caucus says it will "work towards an infrastructure that reflects the architectural, engineering and aesthetic value that befits the progeny of European architecture."

Like all the other ethnic caucuses in Congress? What's the issue?

Nothing! I want you folks to speak out, loud and clear!

MAGA!

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were government-sponsored enterprises that participated in the mortgage crisis. They may have even made it worse. But they didn't cause it. Like many other banks, they got caught up in the practices that created it.8

Another myth is that the Community Reinvestment Act created the crisis. That's because it pushed banks to lend more to poor neighborhoods. That was its mandate when it was created in 1977.9

In 1989, Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act (FIRREA) strengthened the CRA by publicizing banks' lending records. It prohibited them from expanding if they didn't comply with CRA standards. In 1995, President Clinton called on regulators to strengthen the CRA even more.10

But, the law did not require banks to make subprime loans. It didn't ask them to lower their lending standards. They did that to create additional profitable derivatives.

They may have even made it worse.

Trillions in added demand for crap mortgages MAY have made it worse?

Duh.

But they didn't cause it. Like many other banks, they got caught up in the practices that created it.

Not at all......they could buy subprime loans that other banks made.
