Never-Trumpers Never More

9. "These reckless media smears were completely detached from the reality of Trump’s accomplishments in his first seven months. His tax and deregulation policies had created a record-setting economy. Unemployment rates for minorities had reached historic lows. He had strengthened the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and even shattered the leftist claims of a Trump-Russia collusion when he punished Putin’s murderous ally Bashar al-Assad with a devastating Tomahawk missile strike.

Trump was also well on his way to destroying the Islamic caliphate in eight months—something Barack Obama had failed to accomplish with five years of feeble military efforts. The bizarre and baseless media attacks on the president were intended to halt Trump’s progress and shake the loyalty of his 63 million political sup- porters. Instead, Trump continued to rack up policy victories, while the media attacks actually intensified his public support. "

From an original Never-Trump voter:

“Notwithstanding these weaknesses, I believe that the Trump presidency has been, to a large extent, successful. Mr. Trump survived a politicized, even somewhat corrupt impeachment campaign. He has confronted a once-in-a-century virus of foreign origin in good faith and with candor. Despite often-contemptuous hostility by the elite press, and outright civil disobedience by several federal judges, the president has performed his duties and genuinely tried to keep his promises.

He not only insisted that immigration conform to the rule of law, but advocated for and (where legally permitted) built a border wall. The president has appointed more than 200 federal judges, most of whom are superb and committed to finding the law, not making it up. He has followed through on his promise to reduce taxes and to begin deregulating the economy, creating a remarkable boom that reduced unemployment for minorities to the lowest rates ever recorded.

On the foreign-policy front, the president promoted a historic peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, with more deals hopefully to come soon. He formally recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and moved the U.S. Embassy there (as former presidents promised to do but never did). Mr. Trump withdrew from the disastrous Iran nuclear deal, the signing of which was possibly the single worst act of the Obama presidency. The president eliminated Iranian terrorist mastermind Qasem Soleimani, essentially crushed ISIS, and neutralized its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. He signed the Taylor Force Act into law, cutting off aid to the Palestinian Authority as long as it pays support to the families of terrorists. Mr. Trump recognized that a cold war exists with China, and he has taken concrete steps to counter that country’s efforts to weaken our republic.

As an educator, I especially appreciate that the president has stood firm against the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement and signed an executive order combating anti-Semitism on college campuses. His administration has sued to crack down on racial discrimination in admissions at my alma mater, Yale, and has reversed the federal government’s prior encouragement of kangaroo courts on college campuses. K-12 is mostly a state responsibility, but Mr. Trump deserves credit for promoting school choice to advance poor communities, despite unrelenting opposition from teachers’ unions.

Joe Biden, on the other hand, is weak and presides over a party that coddles extremists and sometimes seems to condone riotous violence. President Trump deserves re-election, and this time I’ll cast my vote for him.” Opinion | I Was Never Trump. Not Anymore.

Because this is largely unfactual.

There was very little record setting in the economy. GDP growth was slow. Job growth was no different than before. Wage growth was about the same. The biggest difference Trump’s tax cut made was in the deficit. The economic prosperity they promised as a result never materialized.

NATO is not strengthened. There is far less unity among our allies and us now than ever before. Their leaders don’t trust us and aren’t relying on us. Trump isn’t a leader among allies let along the global community.

I have no idea how you judge the missile strike on Assad as devastating. He certainly doesn’t have any issues maintaining control of his country despite his atrocities.

Obama had turned the tide against ISIS by building a coalition of local actors to combat them on the ground. It wasn’t easy, but that’s the same exact strategy Trump utilized to win the war.

Go ahead and tell me 2.4% GDP growth is “the best economy ever”. You really going to try that with us?

Fear the angry hoards of thousands of far left liberal law makers as if they were marching up from Mexico in 2018.

They're coming to take away your suburb too, ladies.....
You destroyed traditional marriages and are now starting to legalize pedophile relationships. You say the same thing for every issue. Issue after issue after issue....for years and decades now.

“This is not Romney’s party or McCain’s or Bush’s. We push back now. And if those who conspired with Democrats against The Donald think they are re-taking the party, they have another thing coming to them.”

From Chris Caldwell:

“Trump didn’t sell out his supporters. In fact, his presidency saw something extraordinary, the first egalitarian boom since well back into the twentieth century. In 2019, the last non-Covid year, he presided over an average 3.7% unemployment rate and 4.7% wage growth among the lowest quartile of earners. All income brackets increased their take. At the end of Obama the income of the top decile rose by 20 percent, with tiny gains for other groups. In the Trump economy, the distribution was different. Net worth of the top 10% rose only marginally, while that of all other groups vaulted ahead. In 2019, the share of overall earnings going to the bottom 90% of earners rose for the first time in a decade.”

But, the Left and the Never Trump Back Stabbing Bastards got rid of Trump and we can all expect these powerful middle and working class wage gains to promptly stop.

Didn’t ya hear?

Popular vote doesn’t mean anything. If it did, you would care that Trump lost by 6 million votes.

What MATTERS is that Trump lost five states that he won in 2016. He also allowed perennial Red States Arizona and Georgia to go to Biden.

The end result?
306 Biden 232 Trump
A Massive Landslide for Biden.

Both of the candidates are seriously flawed like we have never seen. I voted for neither. Very very very proud of it.
