Where the wild things are
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's rift with his senior coalition partner, the Habayit Hayehudi chairman Naftali Bennett, over the future of the settlements hit a new high Wednesday. The two have been publicly rowing over policy, a dispute triggered by reports that Netanyahu believes there is no reason for a future Palestinian state to be free of Israeli settlers.

On Monday, Netanyahu promised to reprimand Bennett after he openly derided the suggestion. And then on Tuesday, far from apologizing or lowering the tone of his rhetoric, Bennett took to the stage at the prestigious annual conference of the Institute for National Security Studies to further lambast the proposal.

Any Jews who remained in a Palestinian state, Bennett said, would be slaughtered. "That will not happen and it can not happen," he said. "You know why Israelis can't live under Palestinian rule? Because the Palestinians would kill them."

The prime minister was quick to respond, swearing to punish Bennett for his remarks unless he apologized.

"Bennett received a clear message. He must clearly and unequivocally apologize, otherwise there will be a price to pay," the Prime Minister's Bureau said, stressing that Netanyahu had other coalition options to Habayit Hayehudi's 12 Knesset seats.

Possibly. But the people now see Netanyahu acting like a bully. Which doesn't help his cause.

What's the cause? Maybe he doesn't want to see 10s of thousands of Jews forcibly removed from their homes. Is that were we start? move the Jews again? Screw that don't move shit. Let this bullshit "peace process" "Die on the vine"

Both Netanyahu and Bennett acted like idiots in this argument.

Hope they don't cause anymore damage.

The damage would be Obama's so-called peace.
